    Before I cut carbs I usually have to do a juice cleanse. It’s easier for me to switch and do something extreme like not eating at all, rather than lowering my carb intake. It’s easier to cheat with the latter imo

    My cousins husband runs 100k ultra marathons. I don't understand how someone can even do that. The most I could ever run was a half marathon and that was back in high school when I was running every day for like 2 years.
     
  4. all runners are masochists, it's why we run. it's just how much of a masochist we are that determines how far we run. I'm more comfortable in the 10k half marathon range. 5ks are fun, 10k is about when I start to hate myself and thinking about running into traffic.

    My goal for the summer is to be able to run 6-7 miles. I just need to quit smoking first.
     
  7. I can wrap my head around physically running 100k. I cannot wrap my head around the mental fortitude it takes to endure running for 100k. that's hours and hours and constantly thinking. what does your running playlist look like? what do you think about when you run out of things to think about? at what point does your brain do the weird thing where you start thinking about thinking about moving your legs and arms to run and then everything feels weird?

    I'm eating a lot better than I was at the least. I only really work out by playing basketball though and now our court has more restricted hours which sucks.

    Im inspired. my step 1 will start this week:

    1. no bread or pasta or flour tortillas
    2. no soda except for weekend cocktails
    3. start treadmill running
    4. eat more fruit

    When I was doing keto intensely I was easily under 50 a day, probably close to around 25. I've stopped keto and won't be going back on it. I just make a strong effort to minimize carbs throughout the week and eat healthy in general. On the weekends, I don't worry about it so much. I still have some sugar and carbs here and there, but I feel a lot better physically and mentally this way. I'm still losing weight, just not quite as fast. I'm a lot happier/less moody as a result.
