Pablo went from having the most fun rollout to having the lamest rollout so quickly, RIP Swish and So Help Me God

 

Obviously my opinion is far from authority but I feel like Pablo is an album full of amazing moments but not amazing songs if that makes sense

Like every song has something in it that's completely awesome but the song itself isn't? Idk

There’s a difference between people being excited for an album, and when an album coming out is like an event, and this is (from what I can tell) the latter. It’s not even a bad thing, just something I’ve noticed.

I mean, I’ve only ever listened to him casually so I can’t speak to all of his discography but from what I heard, I thought it ranged from ok to pretty good. It didn’t stand out to me as like the best thing in hip hop or anything like that but I enjoyed it enough. And I’m genuinely not trying to say this negatively, it’s just that he’s sort of become a meme at this point due to his antics so I wasn’t sure how seriously his music was taken.

 

I actually love TLOP but I recognize this is a minority opinion. I've been told I have bad Kanye takes


Yeezus is his best album

 

I'm just genuinely excited to hear new Kanye music because he's one of my favorite artists. I can't speak for anyone else but I really don't think anyone is excited about it simply because it's "an event"

 

MBDTF will (most likely) always be my favorite Ye album

People aren’t excited because it’s an event. People are excited because they clearly like Kanye and his music. I’m just saying it is an event in the same way that like a Radiohead album is an event. Which isn’t a bad thing at all, it just is and I was unaware

I just don't really think it matters all that much either way?

 

I think it's cool when people get super excited about a new Kanye release because it reminds me of what it felt like being a kid and having a band you like coming out with something new and having that genuine anticipation versus the whole cyclical "I'm just gonna digest this music and move on" thing we have going on now

Kanye hype is so close to that and it's great

 

Only Kanye records I've listened to: College Dropout, Late Registration, Pablo.

it's very rare that I have the same kind of excitement that I do for a Kanye record for anything else. there's something very special about him, his music, and the way he chooses to release it

 

Isn't Kanye pretty problematic as a person? I don't keep up with him so my perception may be wrong here (please correct me if it is).

 

He is for sure and it should be considered

It gets tough though because he also gets criticized for the wrong reasons

 

I think he’s just arrogant and kind of a douche but that’s about it. I could totally be wrong
