I'm not asking this as a joke or whatever, but how do you guys greet/say goodbye to a date? Is a handshake warranted then at least?

Depends what kind of body language they show. I'll usually go in for a hug, most times we both do about simultaneously

If we are both meeting at the door or something, I'll typically go in for a hug. If I'm meeting someone for a date, there's usually been a decent amount of conversation via texting that has taken place that eases the tension a bit. Sometimes there's just not that feeling where a hug in necessary. One of my dates last week, I was there early and sitting at a table with my back towards the way she would be walking in, so I just kind of awkwardly sat there as she sat down.

Ending a date is just feeling out the moment. If things went superbly well, I'll give a peck on the cheek as I lean in for a hug. Come to think of it, I think I hug at the end of every date, even if there doesn't seem to be anything there. For me, the main first hint I drop of things going well is the "text me to let me know you made it home" line. If the date went poorly or didn't click, I don't tend to say that, just end with a "have a good night." But, normally it doesn't come to that. I think I screen and choose who to go on a date with pretty well.

Now that I think about it, when @Joe4th and I met, he just kind of walked up and sat down in the chair next to me and we kind of nodded at each other and said "what's up." Then got interrogated by the lady next to us and watched bad acoustic dad rock.

I've done it once as a clear joke then laughed about it and went in for a hug. Never heard from her again after that date.

@dylan how is your airport etiquette?

If you're at the terminal and there's one seat left between two people do you sit between them or do you stand and wait?

What's the appropriate space you give someone when waiting in line to board?
