Yeah he actually makes a lot of music, very prolific guy. Actually just put out a new album this past week. Def check out his other stuff!

 

Excited for this. I'm always rooting for him because of our little family connection (our dads were high school classmates).

 

So excited for this. Deafman Glance and Golden Sings that Have Been Sung are both so great.
Loved the Lillywhite Sessions cover record as well.

Album Of The Week: Ryley Walker 'Course In Fable'

This record gets a lot weirder than the singles would suggest but I’ve listened a few times and fully love it now

The more I listen to this, the more I’m convinced it’s his best album so far. Also makes me think I need to revisit Deafman Glance, which I didn’t find very compelling at the time of release: I can see how this new one builds on the sound he began exploring on that one.

 

Pretty positive this will end up in my top 10. The 2 singles are on repeat. Legitimately his best stuff. Picking up the record on Friday for Bandcamp Friday.

I don’t think I’ve ever wanted a record to get BNM more than this one. Already got Stereogum Album of the Week and Uproxx RX

Probably the best album I’ve heard so far this year. I know the guitar playing is always the center of attention, but lyrically he’s improved so much, and even his voice sounds better than ever.

 

“A Lenticular Slap” is just......wow.

I still haven’t gotten my vinyl. I know Ryley is packaging and shipping himself though, so I’m not trying to “get mad”. Anyone else get theirs yet?

 

Haven't listened to the recording yet but it was good as hell in person.
