When you send an idea to your producer and he is stoked on it. Oh yeah. I'm making my own record by the way. — Ryan Key (@williamryankey) May 29, 2017 Expand - View Original
Least surprising news in some time, but still quite exciting. An album of songs like Leave a Light On and I'm a Wrecking Ball? I'm in.
Not surprising but really stoked to see how it will turn out. Wondering if it will have huge Coldplay vibes.
Will be interesting to hear. Based on the last two YC records, I can't imagine too much of this will be sold.
Just wondering, what makes you believe that? I thought the last two YC records were great and their fanbase is so dedicated, Ryan's album should sell well.
I thought they were decent records too, but I don't know -- I suppose just a feeling and looking at the #'s of those records. Don't get me wrong, I hope it does!
You know, I was thinking the same, but that stuff he released under Will & The Whiskeymen sounded so different. So I don't know. I'm stoked to hear where it goes either way. If I was a gambling man, i'd say he goes more in a country-ish direction (See: Wrecking Ball, first half of Fields &Fences).
I'm guessing it will be in the vein of his Will and the Whiskeyman project. That stuff was good. Looking forward to this.
Wouldn't be surprised if he goes the pop route. I remember he mentioned something about writing pop songs on Twitter not too long ago. Not sure if it was for him or other artists. But he'll probably go the Martin Johnson route, writing and producing for pop artists while doing solo rock music.
