Strangers Almanac is probably my favorite in the Ryan Adams catalogue.

He's teasing something. Trying to not get my hopes up, because it's most likely about Jupiter or another festival.

My hopes are up.

 

Ryan's been playing a new song called "Outbound Train" at a few tour dates

 

He's been posting his setlists on Instagram and i'm so bummed he isn't playing around me. 15-18 songs a night.

 

This whole live set from that Pittsburgh show is great.

 

i was about to watch this, but then i might as well just wait to see him in c'ville tonight lol

 

Saw him close out Forecastle festival here in Louisville on Sunday night and he was phenomenal.

his performance of Oh My Sweet Carolina with the Infamous Stringdusters on Colbert was a thing of beauty. Goddamn.

 

I feel like we are getting close to some release announcement. Flying out to red rocks in August to see him again. All time favorite songwriter.

Haha, I've always kinda hated that I didn't get into Ryan until like, pretty much immediately after his hiatus in 2009 or whenever. I'd be totally fine with Ryan getting back into his "three albums in one year" mode.

 

I did the same thing. I think 2009 was the year I really dove into his catalog.

 

I assume the things taking time aspect is waiting on vinyl. Back in 05 it was pretty easy to get vinyl pressed, but he probably doesnt want to launch a pre-order/album announcement without having everything in stock. Makes no sense for him to release a proper album with digital and cd coming out one day and vinyl three months later.

 

Thankfully, I had more than enough to explore with his bootleg and unreleased albums. Made arriving just in time for the hiatus a bit less irritating haha.

 

Yes, there was certainly no shortage of stuff to go through.

 

I tuned into the KCRW session this morning and heard him play "Lucky Now" & "NY, NY". He didn't really talk about anything upcoming though.
