Bummer they aren't coming up to the PNW. When they opened for Circa Survive *checks calendar* six years ago, they closed their set with Decrescendo. It was euphoric.
Battle is 1 for sure. I go between Resignation and Gemini for 2/3, followed not far behind by Mandala.
oh wow! do they consider it their black sheep album like TBS does with new again? i had no idea i found my set and yah nothing haha i was surprised because i had never seen them prior Rx Bandits Concert Setlist at Riot Fest Chicago 2014 on September 13, 2014 | setlist.fm
I recall them saying that they didn’t like playing anything before the resignation. They definitely won’t play anything off Those Damn Bandits or Halfway between Here and There. On their live acoustic cd Matt kinda goes off on a dude who requests an old song. Now that I think about it, during their full album sets of Resignation, Battle, and Mandala around 2010 they were still playing Infection off progress but that’s it.
yah i get getting away from the ska punk styles but i thought progress was progressive in 01, and we saw where they went from there.. odd but oh well! i thought it was a well received album
I’ve seen them 3 times since Mandala came out. Only Progress song I’ve seen was Infection and that was during their “goodbye” tour.
looks like they played 3 off it here on that tour Rx Bandits Concert Setlist at Bottom Lounge, Chicago on July 21, 2011 | setlist.fm
Matt shared this article on his IG story yesterday and my memory is that he said: Battle Mandala Resignation Gemini Progress And refused to even rank the others
Anyway, I saw them last year and they played two songs off Progress, you can look like 20 posts back actually and it's me taking about it haha
Close but Gemini and Mandala are flipped. He ranked it as: Battle Gemini Resignation Mandala Progress
Lol yeah we talk about it a lot because I bring it up everytime they come back for a few shows. I've seen them 3 times since 2006 and have never heard their "single Analog Boy once. They're obviously anti that album
I've always felt they stopped really doing any Progress stuff (or especially anything before it) since Steve wasn't officially "in" the band until the Resignation era, and with him becoming such an integral part in later releases/eras, that made sense to me. It's the album that introduced me to them, like so many others I'm sure, and I'd love to hear VCG3 and such (and they did occasionally still play Consequential Apathy, but yeah they definitely don't seem interested in it much anymore
