was just listening to The Resignation today. You can count the number of bands that have had back to back albums as good as that and ATBB on like one hand
This band is so great and they put on a fantastic show when I saw them last year with Circa. Was really confused as to why Tsagakis wasn't with them then and now I finally have my answer. I'm bummed that he's no longer a part of the band, but I totally respect why he stepped down. I'm glad there wasn't any bad blood.
I was trying to figure out the time signature for Future, Buddy, then the fucking singer started counting it out for me. Man, what a day this has been.
Ummmmmmmmmmmmm Did anyone know that Matt has been part of Dispatch's touring band since last year?!?!?! How did I not know this?
This Dispatch tour goes through September.... so it's gonna be a while. In the meantime, I am listening to Matt's solo album from last year for the first time, it's on Spotify now, solid stuff
yeah he's been with Dispatch for a while now, I think since the last RX activity died down and he wasn't backpacking through Fiji or whatever exotic places his instagram page posts from, probably cool to see that live...
Randomly found myself wondering what Steve Borth II was up to these days. Always loved his work on The Resignation and ...ATBB. Really missed him at live shows. Always thought he was their best horn player, best vocalist that wasn't Matt and, of course, the best dancer. Kind of lost track of him after Satori and CHLLNGER. I guess he's part of Teachers with Ben Bronfman from The Exit who played with RXB a good amount back in the day. Teachers co-produced New Slaves from Yeezus. Huh. He lives in Copenhagen and plays with a bunch of Danish musicians, too.
Teachers have a really great song called "Gold" but I can only find it in my iTunes haha, don't see it on streaming or anywhere else
so, uh, Matt and Steve are shredding Pal Treaux in the studio in a post on the RX IG page over the weekend, hinting at ... possible activity??!
Absolutely they’re up to something. The last time they payed something before an announcement they also captioned it with “rumble rumble”.
yep yep, that's my thinking as well. Mandala came out 10 years ago, though I'm hoping for more than just an anniversary tour of that one ... something more career-spanning IMO
