It works with “Dive” as an interlude between the A and B sides. Literally both of these songs would be in my bottom four for single choices. I love this song though, it’s become one of my favorites on the record.
I do not recommend listening to "Mending Song" after listening to the new Manchester Orchestra song because wheeew SO MANY FEELS. But also I weirdly get some Andy Hull acoustic vibes from the new song?
Love this song a lot but agree it’s a bit odd as album promo. Regardless, if the album vacillates between this sound and the sound of the title track I’ll be quite happy.
I got full band ManOrch vibes from the title track so it's definitely Ruston's voice but on a separate note, god this is good
I love this song, but am I the only one who was a little let down by the vocal mix. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that I think the base of this recording was from a voice memo he did which makes sense, but after hearing the production of the title track and reading how he wanted to up the production value for the entire record, I guess was a little let down when I heard it. Trying to get over it because the song is just too good to get stuck on that but was definitely taken aback the first time I listened to it last night.
Song is great but agree with most it's an odd choice for a single given the production. But whatever. This man is a tremendous storyteller and his lyric game is only getting stronger.
Definitely doesn't seem like an obvious single choice, but a gorgeous song. Took me the first listen to get used to the production, but got used to it pretty quick
That is great to know. It's growing on me over a few more listens. The song is too good for me not to like it, but I'm glad it's the only one. I feel like I might like it even more within the context of the entire record. I've been in love with this snippet since he put it on instagram almost two years ago. What's the title of this song?
looks like that is "heaven made the darkness". track #3 on the deluxe. speaking of....for those that have the advance copy, are the deluxe tracks on there?
