Cool song, not the sound I expected to open the album but it works. Love the bridge + solo through the end.
This record is quite different from his previous. This is maybe my favorite on there, but it’s a decent reference point for where most of this goes
That's the hope, but that was also the case for one of my favorite 2022 albums, and I'm still waiting on a preorder six months later.
Get my dude headlining arenas this song sounds massive (selfish of me because I’ve been five feet from him at a 750 cap place already lol)
interesting that he changed one of the lines from "I woke up dreaming of Lorraine again" to "i woke up dreaming of her face again." Feels more direct, since Lorraine is his character symbolizing addiction/desire to get high.
Sometimes it's super hard to reconcile the studio version when the live version has been the only touch point for so long. Rusty did not disappoint here, it's familiar and different in the best ways.
I checked some of the bandcamp releases of the producer, and its some gnarly out there instrumental stuff. Wonder why Ruston chose him and excited to hear some newer textures.
Love the song a lot, but don't always love hearing that the first single is an early listener's favorite.
Excited to hear "Holy Shit" in particular because of John Feldmann's involvement. How did that one come out?
Feldman walked into the studio and told ruston "lyrics aren't important, just walk in and start singing the first thing that comes to your mind and we'll keep it."
Not the direction I was expecting, but I loved it. So far I've listened to it ten times which is abnormal for me and a new song. Ended up caving in to buy the Northside variant.
clicked the link for the video premier 5 seconds before it went live not even realizing what time it was. song is great.
