"drums" could mean electric drums still tho so even if someone is triggering the sound by hitting a pad with a stick it might not be ""live"" drums. e.g., "weakness" and "holy shit" both sound like electric/sampled drums to me although I could be TOTALLY wrong. I don't care and think it sounds great regardless

 

im taking it as the ones that mention both drums and programming as to be the tracks with electronic drums

 

Yep that’s almost certainly correct lol, the songs that list just “drums” are all the ones that sound “live” to my ears

 

If you want drums, see him live. My dude crushed the kit last night.

 

The drums on the album sound great in all of the songs. Especially the drums in "Mending Song" - those drums are absolutely epic.

 

"Mending Song" being lo-fi like that is one of my favorite choices on the album. The ukulele sounds so lovely recorded like that.

 

"Mending Song" and "Dive" are a perfect natural interlude between the album's two sides and I don't understand how anyone can feel differently.

 

I have little desire to listen to anything but this album since I saw him on Monday. It just keeps getting better. Love his progression as an artist.

 

I'm not sure if this is new or I've never noticed it before but saw this playlist in the Americana genre

 

Northside variant is in the building! seam split on top of the sleeve and on the bottom of the inner, poor form from Second City Prints but regardless I am SO stoked on this, it looks absolutely insane in person

 

John is such an animal. He is so subtle with his style I love it. He can hold down beats but then just blast off in amazing ways (Hellfire and Weakness bridges).
