His tour for Dying Star was with her and was amazing. I saw him in Boston at a small small bar. Got to meet him and grab drinks with John, his drummer. Such a rad experience.
Yep, that’s where I first saw her! They played the Mercury Lounge in NYC. I heard her sing “Wishful Thinking” and “Loving Her”, and I was literally writing lyrics into my phone as I heard them so I’d not forget to look her up later. Best opener experience of my life.
And then you told me to keep an eye on her! Good advice. I saw a tweet the other day about how Failer pretty much set the table for basically everything we have right now in Americana/alt-country/whatever you want to call it, and I couldn’t disagree!
Got the Failer vinyl reissue recently, so that album has been in rotation a lot this fall. Can't think of a lot of closing tracks that I find more utterly devastating than "Sweet Little Duck."
Saw him in Minneapolis tonight for the last show of the tour. He played “Asshole” which they haven’t done all tour. the big news, he said he’s home for two weeks, and then he goes into the studio to record LP 3.
oh hell yea, dude is a machine. I think this album is going to be gnarly. From what he's played so far, Saint Jupiter, The Weakness, and w.e the Michael Keaton song from insta stories was, gonna be awesome.
Crazy to think the first time I saw him he was still dealing with that before starting sobriety. I appreciate his honestly so much. Cannot wait for new music.

If you're looking for something similar, check out the new Bravely (singer of Hodera) album. Listening now for the first time and it's really good!
Just got an email from Ticketmaster that he’s playing a venue in Martha’s Vineyard this August. $25! Tempted to make the two hour drive for it
