Stoked he’s coming to Portland, but it’s nearly 8 months away. I’ll buy tickets and forget about it until a week before the show lol

'Wayside' sounds like it would fit on Dying Star and 'Half Past Three' sounds very S&D, so, it this record is a good mix of those albums i think i'll love it.

the way his voice and the music crest on the “oh/explode/soul” sounds in the chorus is so good

They fixed your brain when you were young.

When I saw him last year, he played a new song called Baby. I'm really hoping that song is on this record with a different title, cuz it'd be such a shame to not hear it again.

I should've learned my lesson about talking about yellowcard in the last Ruston thread BUT I think the last album of theirs I've heard all the way through came out in 2007

I’m going to the Ann Arbor show. Had to pass on the VIP tickets this time

Also passed on VIP. It was definitely more expensive than last tour and includes less, so I was fine with the show ticket. It sounds like people were trauma dumping on him last tour in the M&G, which really bummed him out and made him not want to do it again.

I know they’re not really your thing, but they made some great albums after that point. IMO, Lift a Sail is one of the most interesting, most moving albums ever to come out of “the scene.” The thing I wrote about it for the 10-year anniversary last fall is some of my favorite music writing I’ve ever done: Yellowcard – Lift a Sail

yea that's the one I see people talk about haha. idk what it is but except for Jimmy (*cough cough* wheres the fucking record btw) I've usually had very little interest since like 2011ish in keeping up with new releases from big aughts era pop-punk bands. it's weird too, I'll check out newer bands of that ilk even knowing it's probably not my thing. maybe at some point!

I do think at some point you can reach a level of saturation with certain styles, or genres, or bands where it’s just like “ok, I’m good.” I definitely reached that point with most styles of country music a few years ago. It’s hard to describe, but you know it when it happens. A good reason to keep expanding your horizons always.

And don’t get me started on Jimmy. lol

I did VIP at the last Detroit show and there were less than 10 people inside. He was taking requests and talking to us. It was a pretty great time.

But yeah I just can’t justify the price for this one. Oh well
