We're you able to see Ruston Kelly open for Brian Fallon on his tour this year? Cause it was glorious

I only caught the last song when he opened for Brian, I missed out evidently. This album is beautiful and a pleasant surprise since I hadn't really planned on checking it out until I saw the reviews.

    what a waste of wood

Drinking game: take a shot every time he says stoned or bed

For real though this is great. During my first play through I stopped and replayed “Song of a Highway Daughter” 3 times in a row. Love the subtle vocoder. Hell of a tune.

You'd probably still get less drunk than you would taking a shot every time Stapleton said "whiskey" on Traveller.

I love all the harmonica. I feel like it's pretty rare to hear nowadays.

There's a ton of it on the new Colter Wall record.

Vocals in the first song remind me of Jack Antonoff Steel Train era

Really happy he is playing a small bar in Portland in November. Excited to see all of these songs played live.

This album is really something. The Heartbreaker-era comparisons are spot on. Nice.

Man, still on a high from his record store show at Grimey’s today. This album is phenomenal and seeing it live on release day was pretty special. We could see his mom directly behind him singing along and crying during some songs. I’m sure more thoughts will come later, but if you have a chance to see him on tour, don’t miss out.

Just ordered this on vinyl. My birthday present to myself :praise:

You are a sad, strange little man. Prestigious

Hadn't listened to this gentleman before giving this a shot. Completely knocked me on my ass. So much, I just bought a ticket to see him in Philly.

Man this album is just too good. The steel guitar, the harmonica, the soul crushing sadness haha. My kind of record. There's legit not a song I dislike on here.

Finally spinning this on vinyl just now probably solidified it as my album of the year. What an incredible piece of work.

Also, the practice of pressing longer albums on three sides of vinyl instead of four is underrated. Nice balance of convenience, sound quality, and flow.

Yeah I agree. Makes each side of this album feel like a little EP on it's own.

I'm torn on the closer. I mean I love it, but the reason I'm torn is I can't decide whether I think it's perfect as this short little closer vs wanting to hear 2-3 more minutes of it as a proper length song.

I hear you - it almost seems too good to be as short as it is. This album is incredible.

  24. I've only listened to a small handful of songs from this so far, but "Cover My Tracks" gives me such New Amsterdams vibes. Knowing now that he's a Dashboard fan, I wonder if the New Ams were on his radar much when he was younger. Either way, I fucking love that song.

Now I need to finish the album!

Voice reminds me of a mix of Ryan Adams and Josh Abbott.
