Ruston Kelly - Dying Star (September 7, 2018) Album

Looks like we're getting the first single this Friday. Don't sleep on this dude. He is my most anticipated of 2018.

 

Had the pleasure of seeing him open for Brian Fallon. Dude was a stud haha. I’m looking forward to this one.

 

Very excited for this, Halloween was my favorite EP of last year.

 

Loved his last EP, Asshole was fun, and he is great live. Pretty high expectations for this.

I remember not feeling like I need to listen to his EP a second time, but I really like Asshole a lot. I'm looking forward to this.

 

Oh hell yeah I love Ruston Kelly. And I've gotta disagree with that Lucky Moose, I think his EP is great. Asshole is fun and but I'm kinda glad to see it's not on Dying Star.

 

Honestly I can't even that it isn't great, I don't remember anything about it. Might just have been wrong place/time for me.

 

Hope he blows up.

This is my most anticipated album left this year I think. Something about this dude's voice is just crazy comforting and he's got the songwriting chops to go with it.

 

Asshole is fun but I was a bit nervous. I wanted more of that EP sound and it sounds like this will deliver.

 

Yeah, just once so far. It's fucking crushing, but so gorgeous. Reminds me a bit of Isbell's Southeastern. That same sense of powerful loneliness, with some of the same themes of redemption.

 

Oh god that sounds like exactly the kind of album I want from him. Bring on September.

 

It's definitely going to be a fantastic fall album.

Love Halloween, once you take those odd interludes and the downstairs song away.

Also, I think I'm in love with his voice.

Looking forward to this and after listening to live versions I'm really anticipating it.

 

I realize this is sort of a silly thing to get excited about, but I've just now listened to Halloween and it's incredible, and Craig is hyping this new album up and making Southeastern comparisons, and I was looking at the tracklist for Dying Star on iTunes and the song names are really evocative and are getting me even more excited. Safe to say this release has me hyped as all hell.
