Wife and I finished S2 and loved it. Not as good as S1, but we really liked how they took it in a new direction.

 

I will never criticize season 2 because by god, I applaud the effort. They had lots of fun with it and it had a big time epic feel to it.

But

Nowhere near as good as first season. And I rewatched season 1 right before and was reminded st how great that first season was. Alans involvement was very shoe horned. Also, Nadia was becoming incredibly insufferable toward the end. I hate when characters start to become cartoonish in their actions and reactions.

Season 2 feels like an entire season of LOST. They go into so many fun, intriguing tangents. The ride is a lot of fun. But when you get to the end you realize many of the storylines were kinda irrelevant to getting to the final point.

Overall still very good, the new direction was fun, but not as good as season 1

 

yeah this season was an absolute mess, like genuinely baffling at points, but the finale was really powerful and worth the roller-coaster to get there

Alan talking to his grandmother was a really emotional moment and just made it more infuriating how much he was wasted this season

 

Finally some Hungarian representation in media lmao

 

Just finished this and man, that did not stick the landing for me. I can’t say I really enjoyed this season much at all.

 

No Hungarian person would have the last name Vulvokov lol

 

Also her mispronouncing common Hungarian words is killing me

 

I’m so glad to be done watching this season the plot direction made this feel super aimless and it didn’t really come together in the end for me. Still left with many questions (which I assume they will answer in next season if it’s renewed, but that’s largely disappointing for me).

 

there were a couple of moments that hit hard, but yeah, it was all over the place. I wonder if Poehler's writing was the thing holding s1 together so well, idk

I've been thinking about "you didn't have any obligation, but you loved me anyway, right?" a lot though. one of the most powerful lines I've seen in a minute

 

If it wasn’t for subtitles, I wouldn’t have understood her speaking Hungarian.
It’s not Halo: Reach levels of bad Hungarian but they could’ve put a little more effort in.
