Someone's probably said it already but the back to back of Walking in the Snow and Ju$t is just pure heaven
I can’t believe Zack de la Rocha is 50 years old. Dude’s voice still sounds like a fucking flamethrower.
I WANT THAT ZACK RECORD WITH EL P PRODUCING WE GOT DIGGING FOR WINDOWS GIVE US THE REST But I'll take Run the Jewels features as well, I'm glad they keep getting back. He always kills it.
Mike is problematic, but he has stated how he has family in the PD. He’s not denying it. That’s my only take.
My main issue with him lately is his stance on looting/destroying property during the riots like someone brought up. Though since I’m not a POC it’s also not my place to call Mike out on it.
He doesn't exactly practice what he preaches, at least in terms of fundamentally changing the system. That said, if the stuff he's advocating for in the music is making waves, I think that's what's most important.
this is good, I didn't go back to RTJ3 a lot after really liking 2, I think this will stick with me more
Killer Mike has some wack ass views on things but I see where he comes from with them more than like 95% of the people who hold some of the views he does. Still don't fully agree with him but I can usually see what his reasoning might be.
I’m with him on 90+% of his public views shared outside of music. take a lot of RTJ as hyperbole or as his off the cuff emotional reaction to a situation. Maybe that is giving to much credit. overall I think he is a net positive in his activism, particularly in speaking to a younger generation. this has been on constant rotation for me. Not a skippable track on here.
You don't have to agree with 100% of what an artist (or any person) believes to enjoy them, that's honestly an unreasonable expectation
I love this and Run The Jewels in general, so I hate to say this... but there are a few moments in this that sound a little too similar to other RTJ songs and it takes me out it a little. The beat at the beginning of Walking In The Snow definitely shares some similarities with All Due Respect on RTJ2. There's another one, but I can't put my finger on which right now.
