I just thought it was too predictable. I'd figured it out almost immediately. And that was without having seen any trailers or reading anything about the film. All I knew was "same filmmakers as Searching".
This was very good, even if the broad strokes of the plot are fairly predictable. Great performances from both leads, and the escape sequence was incredible.
This was way more pulpy than I expected it to be. There were a few moments that had my wife and I cracking up like Sarah Paulson dragging the lifeless mailman through the house or when she has her stand-off with the security guards and gets shot. The shoebox in the basement that conveniently held the death certificate AND a newspaper clipping about the kidnapping may be my favorite trope. Overall had a good time with this and I hope it opens some doors for Kiera cause she was spectacular in this.
