An additional tidbit from Punk Rock Theory: Among the EP's most personal moments is its title track, inspired by the passing of Sellers' father in 2024. "The lyric, 'Promise me you'll love me from the outside,' is me kind of speaking to my dad after his passing," says Sellers. "He believed in God and the afterlife, and I do not. I really hope he was correct, and that he's proud of my mom and my sisters and me while he's drifting through the clouds." From The Outside also marks several firsts for the band. The EP features Dylan Roy (Dragged Under, ONI, Skylimit) on drums, it was mixed by JUNO-winner Sam Guaiana (Silverstein, Bayside, Neck Deep), and it was mastered by Grammy-winner Jason Livermore (Rise Against, NOFX, Descendents, Hot Water Music) at The Blasting Room. It is also Rufio's first release through Double Helix Records and their sister label, Double Felix Records.
Solid interview from Scott, mostly on why this is not (and will never be) a full reunion with live shows. Also, I'm always a little bummed whenever a band has new music coming out, and a whole interview goes by without ever asking about the music or creation of it. haha.
I don’t know if that embed is working because it’s not for me but first single “Maps” is out 7/10. Clip sounds great
came on shuffle when i was playing THPS on my pop punk playlist, such a ripper i hadn't heard in a long time! I loved how his solo stuff was essentially just rufio without the other members, he just did everything himself.
