I feel like I've heard most of the album here and there so I'm excited to get all the tracks in one place. "Chameleon" and "Radical" were posted on his Facebook some time ago, and then "Remains", "Now Or Never" and "Endless" were up on Bandcamp in 2023.
Got my vinyl in the mail yesterday. This record is sooo good. The song "Scars" is one of my favorites he's ever done. This is also probably the the heaviest (lyrically) he's ever released.
So....what are we all going to agree to call this record moving forward? - One and - OAAAAOAATAA - 1& - 1&&&&1&&3&&
I'm pretty impressed that he immediately picked up on the fact that the last two bars of the intro switches position to being all on the G string. haha. He didn't even think about it, just started doing it.
It's available now! Album Premiere: Scott Sellers - ‘One and, and, and, and One and, and Three and, and’
His quintessential style of "really fast, catchy punk songs with really technical single-note riffs" is obviously what I love about him (especially when it leans towards the aggressive side instrumentally). But somehow, my favorite songs on each album end up being when he takes left turns and does something out of the ordinary. "Solitaire" and "Scars" are both so good.
Been loving this. Pretty much every track hits. Echoing the love for Scars and Solitaire, and man the chorus to Conquer is such an earworm. Great record
Any chance of a Rufio reunion being in the works? The Rufio socials have been active lately which I wouldn't think means much, but a couple of people have asked if there's a deliberate reason for that or if there's an impending announcement, and they've replied with the eyeballs emoji. Normally when people ask, Scott vehemently denies it and makes it clear that there's 0 chance (like, for the last 15 years). The fact that they aren't saying "no, absolutely not" at least opens the door... even if it's just a one-off show.
I would be so pumped. I know Scott has always been fairly active, but it seems like all of them are participating now on their socials.
Also seems strange to me that Terry (their drummer on Anybody Out There) has been posting Rufio things here and there. Particularly a few weeks ago, he had a long post about Rufio and then at the end said "to be continued". I never would have considered that to even be an option, but who knows. If they were to ever even do one or two shows again, I think I would honestly consider making a whole trip to go see them anywhere.
My guess was either that or something small-ish for the Perhaps, I Suppose... 25th anniversary. They posted on their story "If we were thinking about playing an acoustic version of a Rufio song, what song would you want to hear?" so I'm not really sure what's up.
