Round one is here. 61 years of film with 3 convenient ties. What film will come out on top?

For this round, we start with:

    FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE
,a sequel that truly understands that what people want is more of it and bigger. Now with an ally, the famous Man With No Name goes on another adventure where Sergio Leone helped to reinvent cinema.

    Against...

    RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK
, Steven Spielberg an George Lucas' ode to the serials of their youth, but with such care and creativity that it far outshines the idea of an homage. While sequels would expand upon the character, Indiana Jones is a perfect hero here because he is an everyman, a college professor who isn't exactly strong and not quite fast but cunning enough to survive by the skin of his teeth, even if it takes the divine to finish off his enemies here.

The winner will move on to the next round. The full bracket is attached below.

I love Indiana Jones but I don't think I've ever been as enamored with it as most people seem to be. For a Few Dollars More might be my favourite Leone movie, everything about it is fantastic.

For a Few Dollars More is my favorite of the trilogy. Doesn’t quite fit in top tier film for me but it has a favorable matchup here.

This is a pretty weak lineup. Indiana Jones helped to spark my interest in history and is probably a small reason why I'm a history teacher today, but For A Few Dollars more is a bit more fun because you know Angel Eyes is the bad guy in the sequel.

Neither are top-tier in the context of this bracket, but Raiders means more to me. I enjoy the Man with No Name trilogy but I’ve never had any real connection to it.

Of the big franchises, Indiana Jones is the one I've connected the least with.

Interesting to hear the non-love for Raiders. Wow.

I came out in 1981 - did you all see it in the movie theater? Im thinking you didn't. In the movie theater, at the young age of 13 or so, for me, it wouldve been incredible. EYe opening - nothing like it.

Sure - its against Clint... But Ill take Raiders as it did mean so much more to me.... and yeah If both are on Tv at the same time, Id choose raiders.

... and thats what Im thinking, that if you were not around when the movie came out, perhaps it feels different.

It was so new and fun and different at the time. Nothing like it before (a lot of these movies, not just this one), so by the time you have seen it, more movies that are better have come out after - whether its the acting, the sound effects, everything....

Which is why I think it's even more impressive that I think For a Few Dollars More is better considering it's even older.

Raiders is not even the best Indiana Jones movie, but I do love it.

Raiders being chosen instead of The Last Crusade doesn’t make sense, but I’ll choose Raiders in this vote.

I love Raiders a lot, it was one of my first favorite movies and the last time I watched it, maybe 6 years ago, I enjoyed it a lot still. But Sergio Leone is tough to beat. I voted Few Dollars More.

With 69 percent of the vote, Raiders of the Lost Ark will face Jaws in the Round of 32.
