Unfortunate draws for some of the coolest movies that ended up winning their years. Gotta vote Twin Peaks despite trying to talk myself into BNEP

Twin Peaks is the more deserving winner but BNEP is able to capture one of the more uniquely melancholic tones I’ve seen in film, it’s more authentically human than most films and probably the most unique work in a tournament mostly full of mainstream studio films. I understand if it doesn’t connect for some, it’s very much it’s own thing, but it deserves to be seen because no other film I’ve seen captures quite the same unique beauty and humanity quite like it

I have yet to watch any of Twin Peaks. Absolutely love Bloody Nose though. It was one of my lockdown comfort films.
