feel like on any other site, the seedings would be reversed here haha. probably my favorite Against Me album, but Daydream Nation is one of my favorites of that whole decade

 

I'll go with Against Me. That album feels more important as time goes on, and I've really never clicked with Sonic Youth.

Only voting on rounds where I'm familiar with both albums. I have done the Sonic Youth thing several times, and I actually prefer Goo. Daydream Nation never hit me quite the way it was supposed to, but I genuinely believe TDB is a landmark album not just for this scene but also for a very specific time when gender was being explored and discussed more openly within it. And its importance hasn't faded a bit over the span of almost a decade.

I will never forget how sick that quote she gave to Rolling Stone was. "However fierce our band was in the past, imagine me, six foot two, in heels, fucking screaming in someone's face."

 

TD isn't my favorite Sonic Youth album (might not be top 3 even) but it's about as close to a "landmark" album as there has been from that era

 

TGB is a very solid record. Daydream Nation I don’t particularly care for, but it’s obviously a great achievement in a style that doesn’t work for me. Went with Sonic Youth.

 

I'm having fun being a little stinker in the Beatles v. MO thread but I do think this one deserves to be heavily considered before just pulling the trigger on the legacy release

 

i would not consider that album a legacy release lol, unless we are going to be doing the same for nevermind and siamese dream, which also seems weird

 

I would consider those legacy releases, but maybe we have different definitions

 

Never really cared for Sonic Youth and I love TDB, so it's easy on my end

 

feel like this is the one time a more recent release is a fair choice over the 'classic'
