probably the closest one this batch for me to choose from. ultimately went with the beatles. its more hit or miss but the highs are higher.

  3. Kendrick imo. The Beatles have a lot of great records to choose from, but this isn't the one to beat out one of the records that really turned me onto hip-hop

i'd imagine that's going to be the reason kendrick wins here, which is a little odd to me

Got me voting for the fuckin Beatles, man

  6. Odd that people are voting for it because it happened to open them up to an entire genre? lol

more that that's the album that introduced people, of which i think there are a lot, to the genre. i think it's just an age thing. i didn't mean it as that big of a statement, no need to get all bent out of shape lol

  8. Not bent out of shape, just wondered what your comment meant

  9. Anyways it's def an age thing because I was in high school and aside from like, Illmatic, Enter the Chamber, and Odd Future (lol) it was one of the first hip-hop CDs I actually purchased. Played it a lot while driving around with friends in the car. This was even before I got into Kanye

This one’s difficult, but ultimately going with the white album here.

The White Album used to be lower on my Beatles rankings, but I’ve come around on the excess and ambition (hubris?) over the years and really fallen in love with it. Good Kid is also my favorite Kendrick album, but it’s still pretty easily the Beatles here.

Not the best Beatles record but probably my favorite Kendrick

Kenny, but it’s close. White Album has some insane highs, but I don’t actually listen to it that often.

Best Beatles album for my money. I like both of these just about equally and there are for sure Beatles albums where I’d vote Kendrick over them, but not this one

The Beatles are the most important musical act in my life, and I love all their albums, but I personally think the white album is overrated. Not even in my top 5 of theirs, too bloated.
Went with Kendrick on this one. The albums a classic, and my memories of that release are still really vivid.

As someone who was almost named after a Beatles song (My last name is Fields....not hard to figure out)...I will always vote for The Beatles.

A concise 12 track album > any double album (even with some straight up bangers)

Why is GKMC a classic? What separates it from other hip hop albums?

Love the shaggy sprawl of The Beatles so much. Wish more bands had albums like that in them.

i would imagine crossover appeal–like aaron said, i think this is an album that got the attention of a lot of people who dont tend to listen to rap

  22. Do you mean in addition to its quality, which is subjective (although it's obviously critically acclaimed)? It's his first landmark album, incorporates the idea of "skits" into a nonlinear narrative within the songs, acts as a thoughtful homage to the records that came before it while defining the lyricism that Kendrick's become known for, and as previously mentioned, generally introduced a lot of people who were in high school in the early 2010s to a new genre (or at least a more thoughtful version of that genre)

This one was kind of tough cus it’s probably my favorite Kendrick album but i mean it’s another Beatles masterpiece. But there are so many chances to vote Beatles so I think I gotta go Kenny here
