Round of 64: (10) Taylor Swift - All Too Well vs. (55) There Will Be Fireworks - River Bracket

(55) There Will Be Fireworks - River

 

a lot of her schtick has become tiring and i actively am annoyed by the 10 minute version but the original is about as close to perfect as modern pop gets. taylor.

 

Taylor will obviously sweep this, but I hope everyone voting takes the time to check out "River", and if they like it, the album it comes from, The Dark, Dark Bright is one of the best albums of the past decade or so.

 

For me it's All Too Well easily, but River is a really great song that I hadn't heard before this tournament

 

Harsh matchup for me. All Too Well is my favourite Taylor song and it's one of my favourite songs of the last decade.

River is still a pretty easy pick for me though, few songs affect me the way that one does.

 

One of the cool things about this bracket was getting reminded of that There Will Be Fireworks album, which I listened to a ton in 2013 and then forgot about. Great stuff.

But it's Taylor. I've got my issues with the 10-minute version, but the original is such a perfect bit of scene-setting storytelling.

 

River is going to get demolished, but I fucking love it. Hard to begrudge All Too Well though as its probably Taylor's best.

 

I’ve never been a Taylor fan outside of a handful of songs but I gave it a try! Haven’t heard “Rivers” either til now and it just sounds better to me.

It’s “All Too Well” but “River” rules and it’s a victory that it’s here.

Unless it’s the 10 minute version, they “River” would have my vote

One of my most memorable musical moments in my life was falling asleep on a New Year's day train heading to Kyoto with my iPod on, and then waking up with a jolt and a panic when River gets really loud somewhere in the middle of nowhere in the Japanese countryside.

 

I am voting for "River"

 

Never heard River before this matchup, but I like it a lot! On the other hand, I actively dislike All Too Well ... easy one
