even being the third best pumpkins album, it's still much better than the third best hotelier album. fully expecting goodness to win though.

I struggle sometimes with Mellon Collie's bloat, and Goodness holds up really well for me. But childhood me would be mad if I didn't vote for the Pumpkins on this one. A classic album, even if it's flawed.

James Iha is an overlooked guitarist

And Take Me Down is top soft rock

I'd probably love Mellon Collie more if it wasn't a double album but the best songs on it blow anything on Goodness out of the water

 

I love the Hotelier so much but it’s got to be Smashing Pumpkins.

Honestly, I prefer the Goodness by a large margin. Smashing Pumpkins never hit me like they did a lot of people. Especially this album.

Im having flashbacks to 1997 trying to figure out how to do the harmonics on my crate practice amp (incidentally, the amp used on everlasting gaze)

Listened to both in full for the first time earlier in the bracket (judge me if you want) and I’ve only wanted to revisit MC. Plus it has Zero.
