Gonna listen to both again before voting. Overplayed Folklore when it came out and haven't revisited for awhile. Its been years since I've listened to TPAB in full as well.

Both are a little overstuffed, imo, and butterfly will win this easy, so I’m going Taylor

I struggle to revisit TPAB. A hugely ambitious, "important" album from a generational voice, but I find the poem-building device to be tiresome upon repeat listens, and only go back to the album once a year or so as a result. folklore, on the other hand, is probably one of my 2-3 most revisited albums of the past five years. A top-tier songwriting showcase that is also innately listenable. Also the only Taylor album in the bracket, and I'd like to have one of the best catalogs of the 21st century represented in the next round. Definitely folklore.

  7. Expecting Butterfly will easily take this, I’ve never really been thrilled about that record in particular but still love folklore

    1) Kendrick probably will win his other poll, so he’d still be represented; 2) I think Taylor has a stronger discography than Kendrick does.

Oh ya Folklore no contest for me. There's only a very small handful of albums that have been released since Folklore that even come close to it, and probably none that I think actually overtake it. Such a special moment when it dropped, and helped keep me semi-sane during everything that was going on.

TPAB has always been an album I respect for it's artistry and it's message more than an album I've ever actually gotten all that into. It's a heavy listen which isn't a bad thing of course, but just kind of holds it back from being an album I reach for as much as GKMC or DAMN

Easy call for me. Enjoy a handful of Swift singles but Butterfly is a classic.

Kendrick was the easy choice for me. I like folklore and all but TPAB is one of my favorite albums ever

  15. Yeah folklore is the Swift album that converted me, but TPAB is as close to a modern classic as it gets.

i think their discographies are pretty even, honestly. taylor has more albums id consider good but also more that are bad than kenny, since she has more in general. overall their batting averages are about the same for me.

Taylor very easily has the better discography, but nothing anywhere near what this album achieves

Lamar doesn't have anything nearly as bad as Taylor's S/T, most of Fearless, or Reputation. I don't think it's as easy as you think to say hers is the better discography.

I think he’s got 1 great album, though, vs TS’s multiple

I think Kendrick’s Discog is pretty untouchable but it’s apples and oranges with these 2 artists

As an artist I’m much more drawn to Taylor but as an album and a statement I feel like it’s TPAB. I don’t really listen to either album though outside of the few weeks after they were both released.
