ziggy is my only top 5 left but in rainbows (probably eliminated this round despite being the best of the three radiohead albums up) is top 15

miles davis & the cool, the patient ferris wheel and the backseat

 

i don't think there is anything on T59S that holds a candle to Thunder Road, Backstreets, or Jungleland ... but the title track for T59S is at least as good as the title track for BTR. The Backseat, Miles Davis, High Lonesome, and Film Noir are better than most other songs on BTR. i don't think that's even a scorching take.

 

Born to Run is like a shelf below Thunder Road in terms of iconic rock songs. I certainly prefer TR, but to act like the title track isn't incredible as well is wild. The buildup that happens around 3:00 is some of the best rock music ever.


My scorching take is that Gaslight would be lucky to write a song as well as like, The Menzingers, let alone rival some of the best Americana rock ever made.




And I'm not even a Bruce guy

 

OTIP is a mid-version of this very album

i like the album Born to Run a lot but the title track isn't in my top 3 on the album. probably 5th.
