I've had it on at work and I'm realllllly glad the store was empty when When came on. Haha. Removed it from the tracklist for the many many subsequent listens while at work.

This is very very pleasant, he's such a great producer the sounds are just serene

 

Same it reminds me of panda bear

 

Finally gave it a listen and it's good. I think it'd be a little bit stronger if it weren't so dense - the songwriting is very good but there are a handful of cases on here where I think the arrangements overwhelm. Also probably a couple songs too long. Nitpicking here, though, overall it's really impressive and it seems like a pretty obvious grower on top of that.

 

Still a beautiful record.

 

I return to this often. Probably will make my top ten list.

 

Every time I listen to this album it grows on me and I already love it. Imo theres not a single filler track, everything comes across very heartfelt

idk why they seem so “similar” to me since the music really couldn’t be more different but i wish this got the love bleachers gets

 

i dont remember what i ended up ranking as my number one of 2017 but it should've been this magical messterpiece

 

Album is truly underrated. A beautiful heartfelt piece of art

 

Yep. It's all over the fucking place and i can't argue with someone that criticizes it for such, but for me, it adds to charm and somehow makes it feel even more personal. it's just wonderful.

 

best musical moment of the year was when i played this for my girlfriend over breakfast in her kitchen one morning. literally not even a minute in, as i was trying to express to her how much i loved the album, i just started crying, haha. it was weird, but it felt good. his music is just so ethereal and some of it makes me - quite inexplicably - overwhelmingly nostalgic.

Rostam is a genius. Modern Vampires is one of my all time favorite records but leaving VW might be the best possible thing Rostam could’ve done for himself
