Do you think bands would do sets that are more nostalgia-oriented? Only time i saw Thrice was with BMTH a few months ago and they barely did anything from their first albums.

I think it depends on the bands. The Used and Atreyu seem to lean really hard into playing all the old hits. All the times I've seen Thrice and Sum 41, they play a mix but mostly play what they want to play which is probably the newer stuff the bands are excited for.

With The Used, you at least know you’re getting the same set list they’ve been performing since Dan joined the band, plus whatever cover song they’re performing in 2019 (last I checked they were doing something with “Smells Like Teen Spirit” in their set).

The Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in Tinley Park (Chicago suburb) has a capacity of over 28,000. If you combined the attendance from the last Chicago show of every band playing you most likely wouldn’t even get close to 28,000 people. This is crazy.

I don’t think that’s the right comparison to make. Yesterday, my friend was talking about a different festival and said that while she wouldn’t see any of the bands headline, she’d like to go and see them in a festival setting. If you casually like a band, you’re more likely to know the songs played at a festival than at a headlining set.

With all that said, I don’t think this will do that well

I might be over-obsessing but i tried to do the math for the Tinley Park date and assuming Atreyu are on the side stage, it means 4 bands are on the main stage which starts at 6 and will probably go on until 11. Assuming the transitions are about 30 minutes then each main stage band will play around 50 minutes which is totally fine with me.

Also, i saw that Emo Nite are one of the sponsors. Did they announce any post-shows events?

Atreyu better not be side stage :tear:

jk, I know they aren't that big anymore even though it breaks my heart.

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

Question, why would people be sad that they're side stage? It means they'd be on a smaller stage, in an all GA parking lot? I feel like that'd be WAY more fun that watching them in a seat.

Oh I know, I was just messing around. I'm fine either way.

That is true, I just want more for the bands I love!

I don't know why anyone thinks there IS a side stage when their site explicitly says that only one band is playing at a time.

They said there's gonna be two stages. But one band still playing at a time. Kinda like project revolution did back in the day. And only use the amps for the bigger bands

There were some pages somewhere that said "two stage event" (and also said they wont overlap). Here were the set times for the last mayhem fest for example:

At the event details in Ticketmaster for the Tinley Park date it lists a 2PM time for side stage and 6 for main stage.

Alternating stages is great. No down time between bands.

What do people expect the running order to be for Thrice/The Used/Circa/Sum 41?

I bet it rotates each date

  21. Ticketmaster quietly marked down prices for PNC. Such bullshit. I paid $39 and now my same section is only $25.

Motherfuckers... I bought a ticket for 69 dollars (came out to 90 with fees) and now a better one is selling for 45 without seats.

Is it even worth trying to get them to refund me the difference?

It’s terrible but that’s what they do now, they put them on sale at one price and then as the date gets near they lower them. Between that, the aisle seat price, and the higher price on the first day of ticket sales they have even done on some things like wrestling, musicals etc. it’s complete bullshit and they aren’t being held accountable by anyone for essentially ripping off fans.

That’s just the price of business unfortunately. If a shows not selling well they have to do something to try and recoup the cost. For a show like this, absolutely just wait for a lower price. It was obvious this wasn’t going to be a quick seller.
