Hoping for a return to form. I would have died for this band in my high school years, but nothing since Appeal to Reason has done much of anything for me.
Black Market was the first album I really enjoyed since Sufferer. Eco-terrorist, Great Awakening, Tragedy, Awake Too Long, and Bridges are awesome songs that take me back to older Rise Against. Appeal to Reason is good for what it is, I guess. But NOTHING will ever beat Siren Song and RPM for me.
So according to amazon new rise against album is called wolves out June 9th which is the Chicago date of their tour.
Is anyone else hoping they record with a different producer this time? I felt they kind of reached the peak of what Bill could do for them on their last album. But I'm so hyped that they've been recording, as long as they got a proper break first.
Whoever produced Thrice's latest album is who should do it, album sounded so great. But I've always thought their albums sounded good, I never thought about it.
Hopefully the chorus to their lead single isn't just the same statement repeated over and over ie "I don't want to be here anymore" "help is on the way". Their last two albums have been so bad
I really like IDWTBHA, as well as their last album but dislike HIOTW quite a bit. Great point though, those are kind of lazy choruses.
If I had to pick a song type, I'd love for them to do more songs in the vein of Worth Dying For and The First Drop. Underrated songs IMO, and they showed a little bit of that style in songs like Eco Terrorist. More of that please
Repetition makes it stick in people's heads, that's why they do it. Also interesting note, their Spotify top 10 has changed again and Under the Knife is now up to #7 - Help is on the Way out entirely, Injection #10. I wonder if they might be persuaded to play UTK live, come to think of it.
But when they blew up with their singles weren't that repetitive "Prayer of the Refugee" being the example of when I saw them really gain a ton of popularity
Under the Knife and Injection are so great, I never would have guessed top 10. I would have guessed Savior, Give It All, Swing Life, Ready to Fall, Good Left Undone, Hero or War, and Re Education. If the list actually has non singles, I hope Dancing for Rain and Whereabouts Unknown are on there too
Agreed. Help is on the way is such a weak song it turned me off. Perfect single for how bland End Game would be though
A lot of Chorus's are though. Choruses normally aren't long, but more than just the title of the song.
I mean the point is, they've always been pretty repetitive, it's just something they've played up more in their more recent work. I happen to agree that HIOTW is indeed a bit weak.
Welcome to the Breakdown is the single and it goes "welcome to the breakdownnnnnnn, welcome to the breakdownnnnnn, welcome to the breakdown, welcome to the breakkkkkkk"
