Thank you! Always loved I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore acoustic! Excited to hear Anywhere But Here too.
Finally got around to listening to my Ghost Note vinyl tonight. Some thoughts... -I like The Violence a lot better acoustic than on the record. Still not among the better RA songs but this version puts a lot more focus on the lyrics and less focus on it being a made-for-radio single. -Love the entire B-side. Miracle and Far From Perfect both hold up well in the overall RA catalog. -Wait for Me is another song that I'm not a huge fan of the album version but I love this version. -I really hate the ukelele-led version of Faint Resemblance. -House on Fire is also really just a meh song. Such a bummer that it made the record along with The Violence over Megaphone and Broadcast Signal. My dream "Volume 2" tracklist (no order): Broken English (piano driven) Paper Wings Dancing for Rain Behind Closed Doors Survive But Tonight We Dance The Dirt Whispered This is Letting Go I Don't Want to be Here Anymore Methadone
Also, listened to Ghost Note Symphonies all the way through and I must say I am more a fan of the idea than the execution.
In case you've ever wanted to hear Tim sing on an EDM song: It's alright. Not ridiculously awful like Aoki's Bored to Death remix. But not amazing like you might assume from a Morello/McIlrath collab.
that was a hard no from me. I respect aoki, but i'm not into his rock remixes. However, i would like to hear Tim and Tom do a side project together.
Yikes, 1000% entirely not my sort of thing. Btw, that vinyl set coming out in late Nov. looks so awesome...but hard to justify that amount of money on a gift for myself right before the holidays. (And since it’s via KRM, let’s face it: it won’t arrive until mid-Jan.)
"Neutrality means that you don't really care, because the struggle goes on even when you're not there" Let me be the 5,379,168th person to remind/beg you to go vote today! And if you've already voted, get your parents to vote, your friends to vote, your co-workers to vote, and even get that shady neighbor who sells weed from his apartment to go vote!
This is the real stuff right here. Not just explicit but REAL explicit. But anyway I did a spotify shuffle on them today and had a great time. Such a great discography. I think Life Less Frightening may be my favorite song from them overall. Every single thing about it is so catchy and that bridge goes so hard.
I'd place that top 5 for sure. Same as Life Less Freightening, the bridge goes super hard. That last chorus knocks it out of the park too.
Let’s be fair all of Siren Song is massively good! A few highlights for me: Blood to Bleed Rumours To Them These Streets Paperwings Dancing
The First Drop will probably always hold 'top spot song' from them for me. After that it's Last Chance Blueprint. Heck, sometimes it may be reversed.
''To Them These Streets Belong'' is my favorite of theirs. Super happy I got to see them open up a show in Chicago with that song back in the day. My mind was blown. "Anywhere But Here" & "Black Masks & Gasoline" closely follow.
Damn, I used to play this show on YouTube loads over a decade ago. The passion and raw energy in Tim’s voice here is still amazing.
So this is coming straight from zack there will eventually be a ghost symphony vol 2 but prolly after their next record comes out which they plan to record in the fall or winter and have out mid 2020
I just had a quick look through all my albums and the closest contenders I can find are: Modest Mouse's run of Lonesome Crowded West-Moon and Antarctica-Good News. The Wonder Years' Upsides-Suburbia-TGG Kendrick Lamar's GKMC-TPAamn The Hotelier are one album away... Going back I can't even say there is a run of Beatles or Dylan albums I personally like as much
