I'm excited. The acoustic stuff I've heard is usually pretty good and it seems like they are putting some extra time and care into these.
I wonder if Tim actually listened to Burst and Decay and thought "hey, we should do that" or if it's just a coincidence. In any case, gonna be interesting to see what the tracklisting is (beyond LTA and HoF). I hope they go beyond the singles.
The Wonder Years are FAR from the first band to do this. That being said, really excited for this album/EP, hope it works!
dream 8 song tracklists?? trying to take most of their discography into account: Like the Angel House on Fire The Good Left Undone Methadone Anywhere But Here The Strength to Go On Voices off Camera Survive
Nice! I'd probably go in no order: Anywhere but Here Injection The Good Left Undone From Heads Unworthy Tragedy + Time I Don't Want to Be Here Anymore Politics of Love Dancing for Rain It'd be so funny to see them do State of the Union.
In no order: Anywhere but here Paper Wings Miracle Heaven Knows Broken English Tragedy + Time Survive Six Ways Til Sunday This is extremely hard haha.
I said I Dont Want to Be here Anymore because they did it acoustically live but never pro recorded it But I agree with not having like Ready to Fall or Swing Life Away on this.
They do this sound well so I'm gonna check it out. House On Fire was alright. Hoping for some deep cuts tho.
i know this is a bad take online but id really like to see them take cuts from the last few albums and give them this acoustic/orchestral treatment. ill go on record and say i enjoy the last 3 quite a bit and id much rather they get some love than the fan favorites, especially songs that already have acoustic versions. but w/e songs they pick ill end up digging it
Looking forward to it for sure. I watched some of their Weenie Roast performance, was good to see Heaven Knows in the set list. Damn Tim’s voice has lost a lot of singing power though. Those growls are still sharp as ever though.
I watched that performance on Youtube and honestly Tim sounds pretty horrible on Heaven Knows. Not that he's missing notes but just the singing style he was doing does not suit that song at all. The Appeal/Endgame touring cycle was huge for the band but it did a lot of damage to his voice. I'm surprised they still play songs like State of the Union at all, and I wonder if one motivation for doing Ghost Note Symphonies is to have an excuse to play the older songs without tiring out Tim and Brandon quite so much.
That reminds me, did the ukelele cover of this song ever get posted here? EDIT to add that while Tim sounds pretty rough at the KROQ performance, it is possibly the tightest performance I've ever seen Zach put on.
track listing is out. its 10 songs. the violence audience of one faint resemblance house on fire like the angel miracle savior wait for me far from perfect voices off camera
