The fact these statements focus more on perceived antisemitism, than the actual genocide of Palestinian people, speaks volumes.

finally listening to this and honestly, there are good songs hidden in here but boy are they hard to hear. Whole thing sounds like shit from top to bottom, but there's some cool tracks. Also a lot of weird stuff happening too, but it's a better album than I expected

Making an appearance on Colbert but can't make a full-throated support of freeing Palestine, typical performative nonsense.

I miss when they pretended to be radicals. This last album + Tim's dogshit statement on the genocide has really soured my opinion of these guys.

This is a time we need people to be radical, not to drift toward milquetoast liberalism. There was a time they seemed like they were genuine progressives.

My favourite stretch of the band when the energy at their live shows was off the charts.

Of course bands get older and I'm glad they're still around but to be alive during those primitive years was something special.

They definitely stood for something back then as well.

just seemed like an insult to liberals in general.

Liberals in general deserve to be insulted for their capitulation to fascism and their pro-capitalism stance. Liberalism is a braindead ideology. Anyone into punk music that believes in liberalism is a fool. Conservatism is worse, of course, as they actively target marginalized groups but liberalism is a feckless ideology that has refused to do anything worthwhile to fight back. Liberals in the usa won't even give people socialized Healthcare like the rest of the modern, civilized world and that would be bare minimum.

There are many progressives that could fall under the liberal umbrella that want to do things such as socialized healthcare (which i am 100% for), so i dont know if thats a completely fair assessment.

Any progressive who falls under the liberal umbrella in 2025 clearly doesn't care that capitalism is killing the planet enough to actually fight against capitalism. Anything to the right of socialism, be it democratic or otherwise, is not worth taking seriously.

Granted, my stance isn't that aggressive irl, I just try to make my point to help others see that capitalism is the problem, that does not change the fact that liberalism as an ideology is a failed ideology. Real progressives embrace anti-capitalism.

I wouldn’t say im anti-capitalist, but would say it gas many flaws and is definitely benefiting the elite at this point in time. With some of these ridiculously wealthy people, i often think, “how much is enough for you?”

Unfortunately, capitalism necessitates endless growth. That isn't a fluke in the system, that is how it was designed to function. Endless consumption and infinite greed based upon the exploitation of a permanent underclass, the working class. The working class are necessary for capitalism to survive and under capitalism, the working class will always be exploited. Even under the best version of capitalism, social democracy, the lesser exploitation of the comfy working class still takes place but the real exploitation under that system requires the exploitation of the global south to function.

I agree on the endless growth aspect. It’s just never enough for shareholders and the like. Can’t just be happy with consistency. Always has to be more more more. At a certain point it just isnt sustainable.
