Good! I like a couple Senses Fail albums but I really think Buddy fucked over a lot of people with this tour. Someone mentioned on here that they thought SF was opening for Billy Talent. I’m glad that wasn’t the case because I’m dying to see Billy Talent again and I don’t want to support Buddy at all.
Would the radius clause for this really make SF cancel a March/April tour? I would get it if SF was a headliner or something, but since they're the opener I wouldn't have thought it would matter as much.
I think the general consensus is that buddy wanted to cancel the spring tour to be at home with his new baby, but couldn’t sacrifice the income, which is why he didn’t cancel until this tour came along.
I heard that rumour as well, however, the Rise Against/Billy Talent tour seems to be for some Canadian dates only, plus the opener had already been announced before this whole debacle. If I'm not mistaken, Billy Talent never had much success in the States for one reason or another
It is funny, here in Poland Billy Talent would possibly be bigger then the rest of the bands mentioned above. EDIT: well I've checked it right away and I was wrong - in 2022 alone Rise Against is playing an arena over here, whereas Billy Talent has got two different shows in big clubs (I think it's comparable if it comes to the amount of people they will draw altogether, but an arena is an arena). But it still stands when it comes to The Used and SF.
It seems common that Canadian rock bands barring the biggest exceptions are bigger in Europe than the US. Cancer Bats always seemed like a band that killed in the UK and Europe for example (not arena-scale of course).
yeah, I think more Canadian bands draw more people here than they would in the US, like Alexisonfire as well.
Definitely another example. Comeback Kid too - at least for a time. I think bands broadly of the post-hardcore/emo/hardcore/punk genres face a lot of competition within the US market, but have an opportunity to separate themselves touring more heavily in Europe than their US counterparts.
