“Wolves - Taylor’s Version” would go hard as fuck. There are GREAT TUNES in there buried in a shiny shoebox. It’s right next to “Damage” by Jimmy Eat World as far as albums I wish those bands would revisit.
The plan was to re record the album but those sessions turned into ghost notes and because it turned into that album they ran out of days to re record wolves
Then those boys should start the GoFundMe for some studio time because I would LOVE to hear that. In any case, I’m excited as FUCK for Thursday.
Had no idea they intended to re-record it. I get that the production isn’t comparable to the rest of their albums but it’s not unlistenable at all. I like the rougher production to match the anger…but again, I’m in the huge minority with that opinion.
Aside from Black Market which I just did not like outside of 3 good songs (Tragedy, Eco Terrorist and Methodone) I have enjoyed every album since ATR. But none have had staying power for me the way that RPM to Sufferer did. ATR felt like a letdown at the time but it is mostly pretty great. Siren Song Sufferer RPM ATR/Endgame Nowhere Generation Unravelling Wolves Black Market
Black Market isn't bad by any means. It's got a handful of bangers and a handful of middle of the road rock tunes. It grew on me over the years, mainly because my best friend loves that album haha.
When they were promoting Black Market initially it seemed like it was going to be a self-titled album, and if you cut it down to: Don't Want to Be Here T+T Eco-Terrorist Beautiful Indifference Awake Too Long It works really well in my view. Some people would add another song or two I guess.
About damn time is prolly one of the best songs record during the black market sessions and it didn’t even make the album and was a bside. So happy I got to see it live when they played the metro shows back in 2023
People Live Here and Bridges are great songs too. The Great Die-Off is good too, but it's their weakest album opener IMO.
I don’t get the complaining about the production. It doesn’t bother me and they’ve had other stuff sound like this so it’s nothing new. It still sounds like a rise against song.
I like the song for the most part, but the vocals genuinely sound bad. The vocal filter is just obnoxious and I feel like Tim also sounds incredibly weak here. Instrumentally, it's solid. It's literally just the vocals that feel off to me.
I was hoping for more of a change than this when I heard that Catherine Marks was producing. Hopefully it's just a safe first single. This did nothing for me.
Wow... That was not a very pleasant listen through headphones. If the whole album's gonna have vocals like this, I'm not sure I will be able to listen to it. Also agree that it sounds fine instrumentally.
Yeah, that was… bad. Remember when Rise Against sounded energetic and, y’know, inspired? I sure do, and I miss it.
