Riot Fest have announced the final additions to their 2016 festivals in Denver, CO and Chicago, IL, as well as the single-day lineups. Single-day and multi-day tickets go on sale today at 10:00am PDT. You can find the full press release below.

    Press Release

Early this morning, the Riot Fest team announced the final additions to their 2016 festivals in Denver, CO (Sept. 2-4, National Western Complex) and Chicago, IL (Sept. 16-18, Douglas Park), as well as single-day lineups. And with only a few hours before single-day tickets go on sale (Noon CST), there are several note-worthy additions for fans to get excited about, in addition to the previously announced The Original Misfits reunion, Morrissey, Ween. Jane’s Addiction, and over a hundred more artists.
For the first time in his career, Julian Marley (son of the late Bob Marley) will perform Bob Marley and The Wailer’s Exodus in its entirety in Denver and Chicago. Considered one of the greatest albums of the 20th Century for not only its musicality, but its keen political and social awareness, Exodus – almost 40-years later – still displays its global relevance, especially when considering today’s political and social environment.

Julian Marley will be joining several other artists playing albums in their entirety at either one or both Riot Fests, including Jane’s Addiction (Ritual De Lo Habitual), Rob Zombie (White Zombie’s Astro-Creep-2000), Social Distortion (White Light, White Heat, White Trash on the exact date of its release 20 years ago) and The Hold Steady (Boys & Girls in America)

Outside of Julian Marley’s performance, other additions for Riot Fest & Rodeo 2016 in Denver include gypsy-punk favorites Gogol Bordello, Denver-based genre-defying DeVotchKa, one of the best current hip-hop artists in 2 Chainz and Colorado-based pop-punk influencers, The Lillingtons.

For Riot Fest & Carnival 2016 in Chicago, along with Julian Marley’s Exodus performance, the likes of The Flaming Lips, Sleater-Kinney, The Julie Ruin, The Bronx and more have been added to the bill.

Single-Day and additional multi-day tickets for Riot Fest in Denver and Chicago will go on sale today (Tuesday, June 28) at Noon CST via TicketFly (Denver) and www.riotfest.org.

Absolutely petrified for Saturday conflicts. I'm sure BN will lead into Morrissey which was my dream, but if MCS conflicts with that I will be beyond gutted. Those are three of my six absolutely can't miss sets. Once Morrissey and Misfits were leaked for Saturday and Sunday I've been crossing my fingers for MCS Friday. That would make these next two months so much calmer waiting for the schedule.

The additions are definitely interesting. Really excited to see The Lillingtons back and Sleater-Kinney added, but nothing absolutely earth-shattering. Flaming Lips gets a huge sad trombone from me.

Jesus Christ, Riot Fest makes other festivals look like jokes. Too bad this is during my wedding/honeymoon. (That's exciting too, I just wish I could have Riot Fest and my wedding! Haha)

Cannot believe my two favorite musical artists of all-time, Nas and Brand New are performing at the same festival, on the same day. Will not purchase tickets in fear of them playing the same time. Plus, I travel to see Brand New every summer, including next week in Pittsburgh, so I'm not going to travel again to see them play an hour at a festival. Same with Nas, I've never seen him before so I don't want my first experience to be a 45-60 minute festival set.

Is it just me, or are the lineup pictures they released missing some bands? The text still includes everyone, but the images give the impression that a few artists dropped from the Chicago dates.

    Give what you can.

Went on sale 10 mins ago. Single days are $80 for now, and 2-days are $150. Both will probably go up by $10 or $20 pretty soon.

I drove to Riot Fest Chicago last year from MA (17 hour drive) and got to see some of my favorite bands and The Academy Is...' reunion but I decided it wasn't worth it from then on out cause I didn't really like festivals. Now I live in Phoenix, Denver is only about 13 hours and this lineup is so, so good and I can't remember why I don't like festivals after all.

He wrenches on it. He thinks it's his.

Friday in Chicago has maybe the most bands I want to see the most. Gonna have to take that day off. Sorry, job!

Will be in Chicago all three days, and I may or may not cry for several different reasons.
