only other 'difference' on the poster is that they officially moved iron roses from sunday to saturday, though the band already announced that change when the previous poster first dropped
I did see in the Costco lineup pics in-store that Alanis and PTV switched spots. I have a hunch this will be the first and last time PTV headlines the fest.
I’m going on (at least) Sunday so that’s perfect for me. Also echoing the above that I really need the schedule because I fear I will have lots of conflicts on Sunday. I will definitely try and catch a song or two from Shatner. I took a science fiction class in college where we read a bunch of science fiction books and watched science fiction media and we watched a handful of Star Trek episodes which was awesome. Wouldn’t say I’m a Trekkie or anything but it will definitely be cool to hopefully see the man himself live in the flesh.
Did not see this posted in here yet but looks like Alanis is now headlining Sunday and Pierce the Veil is subheadlining. Costco has Alanis billed above Pierce the Veil now. (Not my picture it is from Reddit)
Alanis being first in Costco could be as simple as them targeting the poster toward a different "market." I would imagine a rando walking through Costco is more likely to be drawn in by Alanis than PTV. Either that or somebody really screwed up. LOL
My guess is that Alanis Morissette is more alluring of a headliner to the average Costco member than Pierce the Veil
Ya it’s marketing forsure. PTV fans are more likely to stroll around Costco in 2036. It’s still crazy to me that one of the most platinum artists ever is billed second. I get social media hype, I’m in advertising, but still odd.
Decided last minute to go on the Saturday.. should be fun Angin de Poitrine are going to have a HUGE crowd
Album sales only get you so far. If we're considering Alanis to be Exhibit A then let me present Exhibit B: The Offspring
PTV is an interesting case this year. You have them in festival like Shaky Knees and Corona Capital were they are playing right before Twenty One Pilots on the main stage, in Louder Than Life they are closing the 2nd main stage with MCR closing the 1st main stage and then in Aftershock and Riot they are the main headliner of their day (shairng headliner status with MCR and TOP respectively)
The John Stamos bit was longstanding so obviously there was more hype that went along with it especially the year he was finally booked, but this is still very cool. What other festival out there is booking the one and only William Shatner?
Multiple ComiCons over the last few decades and pretty likely at least one DWP fest next year? LOL Seriously, though, you're absolutely spot-on. Haha. This is a very fun thing. The Stamos bit was definitely funnier but... This is crazy silly fun. And you know somebody is going to get a Shatner/ICP photo.
Was waiting to see how much I liked Yard Act's new record to be the deciding factor if I come up for Saturday, and goddammit if it isn't fuckinggggg awessooooommee. Hope they do another after show at EB. I think the fest is in the middle of their tour with The Armed, so maybe'll they'll bring em.
