First: This is an amazing tour line-up and I'm sad it's not hitting up Boston even if I'll be able to catch both at Riot Fest.

Second: It's real weird to have a tour like this with two bands on it and have them be on a different date. Haha. But maybe Soul Glo is playing on Friday (9/18)?

On their Aussie tour right now, the Descendents have been playing all 15 songs from Everything Sucks. I'm going to call that an album play lock. LOL

Q101 has a riot fest take over right now and they played Dopeman. So maybe that’s a sign LTJ is playing Losing Streak? Because that is a pretty random song choice otherwise.

Grain of salt here, but at least one person on Reddit is saying they've heard dailies are coming Wednesday on Q101. Others are saying that too and being cagey about where the info came from hah.

Between that and the Riot/Q101 posts about the dailies toward the end of last week... Pretty convinced it'll be Wednesday. Haha.

  7. If we get Elvis Costello, Patti Smith, and Brian Fallon all on the same day, I think my dad will be attending his first Riot Fest.

Fingers-crossed for your dad! That's awesome!

It'll be interesting to see how they split up some of the artists on here. There's more potential stage-closers on the list than usual this year. But a bunch could also just be direct support on Riot/Roots too depending on who they're paired with...

  9. Guesses for stage closers without thinking too hard/looking at tour schedules for open dates.
Riot: Tool, Twenty One Pilots, Pierce the Veil
Roots: Alanis, Rise Against, Iggy Pop
    Rebel: Morrissey, Pixies, Descendents
Rise/Radical: Nas, The Format, Bright Eyes, Elvis Costello, Sugar, Sex Pistols

Honestly? Probably pretty close to what we see. Haha. Only change I'd make is that Social D is likely a closer over the Descendents because they're headlining on that current tour.

Would be pretty wild if Rise were on Roots because that would mean Bad Religion might literally wind up with the same set time they had last year. LOL

With the wedding coming up this weekend, I haven't been able to nail down my plans just yet. But given that a price increase is right around the corner I may say "fuck it" and pull the trigger tonight.

I'm feeling like there's going to be enough each day to make it worthwhile for me.

    Well, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy

Unfortunately it looks like Plosivs may be dropping. Rob just announced that he got diagnosed with a bad case of tinnitus and is indefinitely taking a break from touring

Those tend to drop pretty sporadically year-to-year ranging from the day-of the line-up drop to late June. So may be something they're saving for next week? Doing that would keep the discussion going after the pop they get from the dailies.

That's a bummer! My buddy is going to be very sad about this one (loves PLOSIVS but a big fan of Pinback and Rob Crow in general).

Now that it’s day by day I think it’s one of the best lineups they’ve had. God damn.

    also hot rod circuit!

Seeing it day-by-day confirms that I'm not going this year. Makes it look worse to me.

Depending on aftershows and what else may end up on my calendar then I could maybe see if someone is trying to dump a Sunday ticket that day.

This was kind of my thought, I'm very overwhelmed by the potential conflicts haha There's bands I truly love every day, but also a ton of those bookings that would be pretty fun to see while I have the chance. I think I'm going to have to actually be on time every day this year too

Interesting to see that the hip hop acts are spread across the whole weekend. I was expecting them all to be on one stage on one day

I'm going to be bummed if PTV and Alanis are the same time, I hope they're just saying fuck it and putting her on the Roots stage or whatever one is right next to the Riot stage before PTV.

She will be closing out a different stage overlapping with them, almost guarantee it.
