Looks like Gurriers are in. They are in the states in September and in Pittsburgh 9/17 (with nothing after). Also, a commenter on Reddit said they heard they are in.

This location is so weird to me. Bridgeview but not SeatGeek. It’s in the middle of an industrial area?

oh, it’s right by Polekatz. Now it makes more sense lol

I still can’t get over how little we know this year… like 15 hours before the lineup drops and I feel like we really don’t know much.

Rancid posted on IG today. An old ass photo of Tim playing guitar in OpIvy with “Lint” as the caption.

Why the fuck do they always do this? LMFAO

That was funny. They’ve done a good job on tamping down a lot of stuff but there’s always the chance an artist accidentally posts early tonight after midnight. Haha.

Instagram isn’t showing the post when you share it here, but Q101 posted that Riot Mike will be on air at 9:50 a.m. to talk about the lineup.

Edit: They made a second post which is showing up here:

I actually think we know a bit more than we usually do. It's not all 100% but...

Locks (100%): Gogol Bordello, the Beths, GWAR, Mom Jeans, Sincere Engineer

Pretty likely (>75%): Sex Pistols, Social Distortion, the Pixies, Rise Against, the Format, Angine de Poitrine, Public Image Ltd, Sugar, Descendents

Possible (>50%): Reel Big Fish, the Suicide Machines, Bright Eyes, the Chats

Kept it pretty conservative with those last three as I think RBF is very likely. Just no hints about it or anything yet. But what's interesting is that across those? I think a solid chunk of them would be in the top 2-3 lines for their day.

    Well, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy

I’d add Pixies to “pretty likely” too

I forgot The Menzingers were likely. They were awesome the last time at Riot and that was my first time seeing or listening to them, but I would definitely watch them again.

Edit: Scratch that, I guess they are not likely haha

menzingers have a salt shed show, so they’re out. I agree with everything else 100%. I have a feeling mitski has great odds along with home grown, blood for blood, haywire and twitching tongues.

Forgot about them! Updated. I wasn't necessarily aiming to be comprehensive but just to show that we know a lot already kinda.

I think a few of those are bound to be absent from the proper line-up but if even 50% of that holds that's way more than we usually know!

That's what I get for going from memory! Haha. Removed the Menzos...

I do think we have a strong shot at Home Grown and Haywire too. No tour dates to map to or anything but they both feel likely. If we get Reel Big Fish, I think that ups the odds of Home Grown exponentially too! Could also see Goldfinger being in the mix in that case...

Mitski…maybe. She is pretty big so would have to at least subheadline. I just don’t know if vibe wise she fits the festival. I guess they got Waxahatchee and she was kind of out there sound wise compared to who they typically book so anything is possible. She is going to be active in September so that’s at least a sign that it’s not completely out of the realm of possibility.

the home grown reunion already a year old and still no Midwest date. Seems intentional.

Ugh tomorrow is also the anniversary of Operation Ivy’s energy. I’m really building myself up to be let down. Thanks Reddit.

I don’t see Mitski fitting at all.

Waxahatchee at least has the history of being in the scene.

With Tom Morello’s history with the fest, the sudden Power to the People fest press release and unsure if he’s ruled out…

I’m thinking Bruce Springsteen is in play as a headliner.

The real reason they waited until now to release the lineup!

Had a dream they dropped the lineup and Taylor Swift doing a 14 year play of Red was the Saturday headliner booked against AJJ on the Radical Stage. They also got the Backstreet Boys to which people were complaining the Backstreet Boys played too many years in a row, but they didn't headline notably.

  23. campeondeluniverso

    nah.

really surprised there haven't been any leaks of the lineup, not even an early print on a magazine or newspaper here (in Chicago)

I can’t believe we’re hours away from getting the lineup and are talking about Mitski, Springsteen, Taylor Swift & the Backstreet Boys. Truly, bravo to riot fest for stumping their most dedicated lineup sleuths this year.

We really ought to make Riot Fest bingo cards.
