I mean, I would like all the bands on that tour to play, but yeah they definitely were not waiting on that.
Yeah nothing against any or all of them playing just that they were not waiting for early to mid day undercard acts to play their Chicago show before announcing the lineup.
Yeah the teasers they come up with are always super fun. I hope they have some tricks up their sleeve to keep us occupied for the next week lol
I always get a kick out of the videos they put together with the hints. But man, some of the guesses are always so off. Haha. The GOAT for me, though, was the radio static that ended with the Misfits logo.
I know Bring Me The Horizon just played an area show in Chicago a week ago but is there a chance above 0% thy play Riot and do Pray for Plagues? The next NA leg tour starts in Vancouver on 9/20.
I think Riot is likely but their Furnace Fest set is being advertised as an exclusive for Pray for Plagues
The only thing that doesn't have me convinced is Circa Survive did a similar thing where they said they were only doing five shows and have since added a bunch more. Maybe I'm delusional.
I did the same thing! I got all excited, checked here and saw folks saying "next Thursday" and felt my heart sink. LOL Could be worse, I guess...
Hopefully they drop some headliner hints between now and then, because man, the Reddit is getting even wilder. If we're to believe one poster the headliners will be Tool, Linkin Park, and Twenty One Pilots because they messaged with a random person they saw deleting a comment who claimed to have insider knowledge. And this is what they gleaned from a game of 21 questions with them in the DMs. Because it certainly makes more sense for that to be a festival employee trying to leak information rather than just somebody trolling...
That dude on Reddit is either a clown or struck gold talking to an insider. When I saw that post my heart sank because Skrillex popped into my head. But the radius clause has been ignored before for headliners before so Guns n Roses playing “The Spaghetti Incident?” + hits, The Offspring playing the punk stuff and Public Enemy/Anthrax back to back is another idea based on that post. Terribly unlikely, but very riot-y. GNR is a band where ignoring a radius clause should be a nonissue.
I’d be down for Linkin park. They have no other us shows this year so that would be a huge exclusive get for them
I see no world where Riot Fest books Guns N' Roses or Linkin Park ever. They are both very far out of the festival's scope of preferred programming. LOL If one of those is booked then something went really wrong with somebody else.
Honestly, I think they are just a nice, optimistic, trusting person getting duped by a troll. EDIT: Worth noting that I think something like this happens every year and the guesses are almost always wrong.
