Ya it looks like they went up about $20-30 bucks.

I always find it funny/odd when festivals post things like "Who do you want to play this year?" when the line-up is already well locked in...

Like, that Riot post asking what albums we want to see is pretty useless. But I guess it's a low-effort way to prime the algorithm in advance of a major announcement!

Good opportunity to suggest incredibly small and local bands who they can consider as alternates or add for cheap on a second wave. Is that likely? Absolutely not. But I’m sure if the comments got flooded with something cheap like Direct Hit or Into It Over It they’d at least have an internal discussion about adding them

Great. Now all I want is a Direct Hit! Wasted Mind album play...

Mítski got announced as headliner for All Things Go on September 25, week after Riot. No Chicago date yet on her tour. Hayley is also playing the festival. Not sure Riot would grab both, or if current Mitski fits the Riot vibe, but just throwing it out as a possibility.

If Bright Eyes and Hayley Williams are possible fits, I think it's reasonable to slot Mitski in as possible too. I do think they'd want to steer clear of having too many indie-leaning names toward the top so maybe it's one or the other... But seems reasonable to me!

One of my favorite Riot-related memories was seeing them at that bike shop in 2018. I would say "with the Bombpops" but it was at capacity when I got there (i.e., just before they went on). So I sat in line and waited through their set for people to leave. I wound up getting in and was right up-front. Super, super fun set.

Saw them this past weekend and they still absolutely rip!

    Well, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy

Not really related to Riot, but I am genuinely blown away by the fact that Haley solo can so amphitheaters now. Makes me wonder what Paramore’s pull will be when they tour again

I’d been waffling back and forth with whether or not she was likely… And had talked myself into her basically being a lock.

Bummer! She would have been a great add.

Packaging would be a great early day add, they deserve more buzz.

If Hayley is out then I think Mitski might be more likely although I may be only saying that because idk who the fuck is headlining or subheadlining.

Seems like fairly limited potential overlap. LCD, Jack White, Portugal, Angine de Poitrine, and Die Spitz stand out. I can see this being one that might share 1-2 with Riot each year.

LCD already did four shows here at the Aragon this year so I don’t see them as likely. Jack White has two shows here so he’s out. Angine is now down a day but can still make Riot work so I’d say they and Die Spitz are the only likely/possible ones from that lineup.

    Well, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy

LCD also has an Asheville show two days before they play that fest. They could technically travel to Chicago and back but that would be a logistical nightmare lol. Safe to assume they’re out

Angine de Poitrine is becoming one of my biggest hopefuls.

Not hotly speculated but Oliver Tree is out. Chicago show on 8/11 and in another country on Riot weekend.

    idk man

Die Spitz is also out, they're playing Lolla

I feel this year is the one with less bands locked or that we assume are locked.

Week after Riot in Maryland, puts The Beths way more in play now that they’ll still be touring in the states in September. There’s no Chicago on their tour with Beach Bunny and by the time Riot rolls around it will have been nearly a year (ok minus two months) since their show here (that was sold out) so I would say their chances are good for playing Riot
