Reddit did the same with jawbreaker. They were convinced they weren’t closing the main stage eventhough they were announced as the headliner with the lineup announcement.
This is unexpected and cool! Would honestly be a great get... I hope the timing isn't just coincidence! Not the most reliable metric but it's something. Operation Ivy has 312k monthly listeners. In contrast... Bikini Kill has 481.7k, Jawbreaker has 104.5k, and the Misfits have 1.8 million. So I think it's fully plausible that they close out Riot for their day. But could see a situation where their paired up with a strong, genre-opposite stage closer for Radical/Rise or Rebel that acts as a stage-closer. And the poster might look more like 2018 or 2019 with multiple names. The biggest thing for me is that to get them to do it? It would have to be headliner money. Oh, no doubt. And I honestly, genuinely wonder if they would just be a one and done. Jawbreaker got back together, realized more people than they thought gave a shit and made a go of it (to diminishing returns draw-wise, to be real about it). But Jesse and Tim are both very well-aware of their influence and doing just fine without it. Financially and artistically. I could really see them taking the paycheck and calling it. Or just sticking to doing a few festivals. That is some bizarre energy. Especially seeing the poster. LOL
They would definitely headline. And probably on the Sunday. Refusing to let myself get too excited about this though. Hah. It's hit the Jawbreaker territory for me where... When it happens it will come at me out of nowhere and I'll be staring at my screen with a slacked jaw for like, 30 seconds. LOL There's also a bunch of different scenarios that could make sense with band combos we're talking about without Operation Ivy. No Doubt headlining with RBF on the main stage in a late afternoon/early evening slot (similar to DHC's positioning) and the Suicide Machines mid-afternoon. Sublime with RBF on Radical/Rise for Sunday. But you could also toss RBF pretty much anywhere and SM could be on a punk stage. Fishbone just played Chicago so they're a possibility again too... I'm real curious to see if some of these speculated artists even wind up on the line-up or not. Because so many of them feel like a coin-toss.
I got a whole email and teaser for a single show in Brazil? Seems kind of overkill but maybe that’s why I’m not in marketing.
Considering the amount of "come to brazil" comments under every instagram post from an artist it seems pretty fair
I have a feeling Morrissey is not on the lineup this year, but those September dates start after Riot. He is technically still in play.
Okay, they are officially "on one" and it's coming soon. On the matching FB post they left another comment that said: "Keep asking though and we'll keep pushing it back a day." Basically: It used to be way worse. It's coming. Hold your horses. LMFAO
I think I’m the only Person who really liked Riot Slop (I even looked for cans and got roasted on the Fb page… haters)
Not sure if BMTH new tour add more chances for them to play. They are playing Vancouver on the 20th, so probs they can play Riot in the 18th. Also they havent played Chicago since 2022
They're playing Rosemont, IL on May 15th. I feel like that would rule them out, no? If anything they might be a late addition. But I could be wrong.
