Alexisonfire announced some Crisis album plays and said there will be more this year. Would love it if the got that!

Just read a comment on the Lolla sub that said there are rumors that The Strokes are playing Riot this year. I have not personally seen these rumors before but thought I’d pass along anyways.

(Grain of salt as always with info from Reddit)

Do you happen to know what thread its in? I can't seem to find it... And was going to snoop the person's past posts to see if they've leaked/teased anything before. LOL

    American Football out…

    Well, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy

Ween is teasing something for this year. Been a while since they’ve played Riot

Had a random thought at the gym just now, would a The Sufferer & the Witness album play get me to see Rise Against for the first time in a decade?

    Here is the comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/Lollapalooza/s/9ccBQhztIg

The person seems to be referencing someone else’s “insider info” vs. it being their own info but I don’t know where the “insider info” is coming from.

  8. They seem very against doing album plays but I would of course be in the pit for that.

Alexis announced a Crisis play for August as their only Ontario show for it. Maybe Riot is open?

I had to split from their set in 2022 to see the Menz do OTIP

Zach has tried to get the band to do album Plays… everyone else is against doing them.

Over the years and countless shows I’ve been to I’ve seen all of suffer but the approaching curve. (They’ve never played it live)

That conflict was painful. I managed to get a ticket for Alexisonfire aftershow and it solved it, but man seeing the schedule hurt

Did some digging and this person seems to say "people are saying" and "they hear" quite a bit. Not putting much stock in this one.

I do think they would be a logical headliner, though, so who knows. They could be accidentally right?

I've never understood this being such a hard-lined stance from them. And I do kinda wonder if we might see a shift in their attitude toward this depending on how the next year goes for them. The new album had a pretty lukewarm reception across the board (including radio) so if they see ticket sales really softening they may change course.

    Well they're wrong!

But for real, my relationship with RA is a tumultuous one, but if they did Sufferer, that opening "this is noise" would awaken me like a sleeper agent.

I honestly don’t think Tim can do a set full of songs from any album before Appeal to Reason. His voice is definitely not was it once was and I don’t think he can pull off the screaming/raspy vocals for more than a few songs a night.

When they opened with “are you ready to rock?” from alive and well at night one of the metro residency the entire place went crazy

100% this. The first tour after Covid he sounded the best he had in a very long time. Now it’s back to pre covid and is hit or miss depending on the show.

he sang some of the screaming parts at the 3 metro shows. Back in 2023

I know the typical consensus here is they don’t fit the fest but would love to and still want Depeche Mode to headline.

Is the consensus that they dont fit? They would be an amazing headliner at Riot, I feel they totally fit with the festival vibe the same way New Order did

Depeche Mode would fit right in. I don’t think they’re a weird get. That’d be cool!

I’ve just seen people say it isn’t a fit. It honestly may not even have been here. But either way, would be great.

that guy definitely reads one comment and his mind kinda goes in many directions. wouldnt be surprised if he was going off of my comment saying that my understanding is that the strokes are out for lolla.

They have a current hold on a date at Tinley right now for the summer. obviously things can change but switching a mid summer Tinley date for Riot probably throws touring plans off a bit so i wouldnt expect it imo.

Looking like Bilmuri has an open date on his tour coming in the area on 09/19. It’s more than likely LTL since he has a date here in May but still possible.

Jimmy eat world at northerly island June 11. Outside the 90 day window. Show is after riot announces the lineup. They could announce the album plays the day after the Chicago show and add them

I'd be all in about Depeche Mode playing, but they would need to be one of the headliners?

I would assume they would headline or at least coheadline (like Weezer & Jack White)
