Might be the adrenaline running through me, but man, Soft Play and Lambrini Girls back to back was a definite Riot highlight

Q101 confirming via sponsored ads now… The pop-up show tomorrow is the Ataris.

Did Hanson go over? Went to catch Gym Class heroes at 5 but Hanson was still playing : (

Dance Hall Crashers were my #1 for the day thus far. Lambrini Girls are a very close second. Both fucking phenomenal.

Giving up on my best impulses and hanging out by Riot/Roots for the rest of the day because old and tired.

The Ataris said it during their set.

I really want to go and I even have a day off but going there from out of town early just to wait 3 hours for the show sounds like a nightmare

@troyplaysbass you are still not going?

Even Cobra is 10 minutes over the updated schedule.

  11. Yeah, can’t do another night away from home this week. The Ataris sounded awesome today though so it should be a good show.

  12. Had a genuinely great time today despite the sun and the Rebel stage delays messing with my plan.

Texas Is the Reason, TWY, Lambrini Girls, The Paradox, Weakened Friends, and The Ataris were all highlights. Screamed my voice out to TWY. Couldn’t stop smiling at the seemingly all-gen Z mosh during TITR. Caught a bit of TAI and my favorite Jawbreaker song. Green Day sounded awesome even if I only had about 45 minutes in me.

Another good year. Only problem was I didn’t see @natefoundglory which means this Riot Fest doesn’t count and we gotta run it back.

Ya know? You don’t have Green Day, Blink 182, and Weezer then scale back the next year after clearing selling well. I have a feeling we’re going bigger.

  14. Locking in my prediction: MCR, Op Ivy/Turnstile, Paramore

im thinking lolla has turnstile locked as a north stage headliner. If not we got em. I’d throw Deftones over paramore. I think we’re still waiting them out a bit. Hayley’s gonna hit the market hard this summer. Regardless I’m hoping op ivy.

  17. Yeah, I think they’ll have the MCR logo up on the screens with next year’s dates tonight.

I didn’t know there were additional news around them so yeah, I’d believe this.

Next year let’s plan a full crew meet up. Maybe a photo op.

I know this is more of a Lolla booking but…is Oasis too big?

    I would argue yes.

I would argue that right now Oasis is too big for even Lolla. They’re a multi-night stadium act in the states currently.

That Rebel stage delay really fucked up my day. Academy Is was my most anticipated for the day and I only got to catch 5 songs.

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

Today was great despite the heat and the Rebel delays! Soft Play was a fun way to start the fest, loved the energy as expected. Ran through the merch mart and listened to Linda Lindas. Pure Noise had a deal of two shirts for $30 so I snagged Knocked Loose and Drug Church tees. Dance Hall Crashers was fun, though nothing I'd need to see again. Ran over to watch Hanson but found out that Ataris went over so expected them to come out eventually but after awhile we just gave up. I found out that they showed up 15 minutes late and they were scrambling so that delay was 100% their fault. Grabbed dinner and watched The Wonder Years, who sounded great, don't get me wrong, but it's the same set I've seen SO many times. Hoping their next headliner switches things up. IDLES was fantastic, so much energy and had a blast getting to check them out. Jack White hopping on stage was an awesome surprise! Went over to catch a little Cobra and honestly was so disappointed, they sounded fine but Gabe kept making excuses for not practicing and it seemed half-assed. Ran back over for Jawbreaker who sounded solid and had good energy. Green Day was the best set of the weekend, it's kind of hard comparing literally anyone else to what they brought to the table, but they fucking rocked as always.

Great weekend! :) Had a blast as always, not going next year so I can finally go to TIFF but definitely wouldn't be deterred from trying to go another year for a day if the lineup rocks.
