Echoing what others have said but I’m also shocked no RK aftershow

TAI and SF are tempting but not enough for me. I'll probably do Sunday then.

I'm feeling like if it were something "bigger" they'd have hyped it some. This feels more like it's a 20 year party kinda thing.

That's what I was referring to (sorta). The Lawrence Arms played in 2005. Naked Raygun and the Bollweevils both played in 2006 and 2007... Of course, those first few years were just at the Congress Theater.

The multi-venue years were 2008-2010 if I'm recalling correctly. Each of those would still make sense for those years. But it puts a few others in the mix too (Methadones, Shot Baker, 88 Fingers Louie)...

Beyond this, I'm pretty stumped. Hah.

Now that we’ve got the official aftershows, who wants to guess the Pop Punk Pizza Party lineup? I feel like some combo of Cliffdiver, Kali Masi, Direct Hit!, Jacob Horn Trio, Weakened Friends, and Bad Planning is most likely (but I’m really crossing my fingers for Major League)

Lolla doesn’t hype theirs. They just announce them or put out a tease the day before

the Luke combs one this year came out of nowhere and was announced the day before

I know how Lolla handles theirs. But Lolla and Riot Fest are completely different organizations. Whenever Riot Fest has something big up their sleeves they usually say there's something special coming, more TBA, etc. in the communications around it. And we got none of that here. Feels more reasonable to expect something on the smaller tip.

Given what the poster says (that it's a 20th anniversary show) I'm going to assume it's something celebrating the festival rather than just one of the headliners playing a small club. Never say never or whatever but it feels like cope expecting Green Day or Jack White at the Metro given the context.

From the festival itself... Cliffdiver and the Paradox are both possible, I think. Cliffdiver would be kinda perfect though, TBH.

Feel like the metro mystery show is Weezer

I could see the Metro show being like a big jam type thing, with different musicians coming out to play and sing, rather than a typical lineup, but who really knows

Deep history with the Fest too, so I’ll buy this guess! Still guessing it’ll be a bit more Chicago-focused but… I’ll bite on this as a possibility haha.

Yeah it's either something Chicago related or its Green Day, Jack White or Weezer

Pizza Party guesses for me are Free Throw or Cliffdiver

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Honestly, I could see any of the headliners doing a surprise set at that show.

But since it’s the same night as Blink, Weezer/JW/GD sounds more likely

Although out of those three, I think Weezer makes the most sense. They have the longest history with Riot and has played the most out of those three too (2011/2014/2015 Toronto/2018)

Jack White just played the Metro last year, feels too quick for him to return there. Same with Green Day since they did a Lolla aftershow there in 2022.

Yup that’s where I got my educated guess of Weezer from

My 2 bets are Weezer or Knocked Loose

Isn't it the same day as Knocked Loose? Not that it's not possible but just seems a bit unlikely.
