Paramore is a three piece band too, so add them to the possibilities too of being a three piece has to do with the clue.
Alkaline Trio seems likely and they are probably due for a return, but maybe that’s too obvious and the clue is referring to someone else
I just doubt they would be teasing headliners this soon… Edit: but also, does this mean some kind of artist announcement soon? Because that’s wild.
I mean, the only time they've ever dropped an artist this early was the headliner (Misfits) so I don't think it's unreasonable to tease something. Especially if they want to build hype given all the weirdness with the venue shift in 2024. Maybe it's not headliners but... The hint is still doing the job of getting people talking and thinking it might be headliners. Haha.
the wording gives the notion that its 3 different trios, but they could also just be making a trio joke by counting to 3, hard to tell.
and also, "clue 1" implies more clues to come! maybe they making the lead up fun this year and not stressful for once, hah
What if it’s a blink-182 curated/side project stage? hear me out- You can’t spell the word riot without a trio (Alkaline Trio) or two (blink 182 [also a trio]) or three (Transplants isn’t technically a trio, but their most famous lineup is & most people would think of them as a trio). what if it’s hinting at a main stage that ends with Transplants into Alkaline Trio into Blink (I would assume with Matt Skibia joining onstage for some of his songs). then the earlier slots could be an old friend band of theirs like NFG or Home Grown + whatever cringey pop punk rappers Travis is currently working with
Don't know if they're doing price tiers or anything, but got my GA pass at $250 ($300 after fees) and it was a breeze.
Definitely! I'm a little surprised they didn't drop a second one ahead of the on-sale, TBH... This is definitely possible. And, thinking on the fact that it's the festival's 20th anniversary? That general idea could make sense. I'd imagine some of the bigger acts will be artists who have played in the past...
i think im gonna gamble by not buying an early bird. the last 2 or 3 years ive bought tickets, but never even scanned in at the gates because i end up helping my friend set up their booth every morning as part of their crew
2 things stick out on this one: 1) the tweet calls it a puzzle which makes me think there is more to it and 2) the first half of the clue wording is so clunky that maybe there is something to decode within it. but it could be nothing more than they are just clunky writers, haha
These clues are lame and vague as hell. A reunion?!? A band with three members?!! Sounds like every riot fest.
Makes me wonder when we're getting answers to these clues, two of em in the span of one day is out of the ordinary
Op Ivy is the obvious guess of course. Are there any bands with a Bill in them? If the clues are meant to be a puzzle, i.e. interlocked, maybe Bill refers to Billie Joe Armstrong and the reunion that fits him is Op Ivy? If Rilo Kiley reunion is true, I could see it being here. Idk if the Sex Pistols w/ Frank Carter counts as a reunion, but that does seem pretty likely to hit Riot.
I prefer the nothing burger hints to the ones Bamboozle used to do back in the mid-2000s: "Wacky Wanda and her merry band of pumpkin carvers will be visiting the ol' plywood factory in 1986 with a few ferrets who are hungry for taffy pudding parades!" And the bands would be like New Found Glory, Silverstein, LMFAO, and Third Eye Blind. They made absolutely no sense. These are vague but at least it gives you some idea as to what to maybe expect?
