Honestly, kind of like this one compared to those in the past. I agree about split sets and a shareable image, but this one is better than I’ve seen most of these things so for me it’s some kind of progress, I suppose.
Friday: Rilo Kiley, first little bit of Weird Al, Knocked Loose, Blink 182 Saturday: Citizen, Bouncing Souls, Knuckle Puck, Dropkick Murphys, Jack White, first half Sex Pistols, second half Weezer Sunday: Smoking Popes, first half Lambrini Girls, Dance Hall Crashers, Hanson, The Wonder Years, rest of Cobra Starship, rest of Idles, Jawbreaker, Green Day Honestly love how straightforward the schedule is this year, aside from that TWY/Cobra/IDLES nonsense lmao
One of my biggest "advantages" this year is the paired stages. I'm annoyed that the Wonder Years' set overlaps the way it does with Bad Religion... But I can watch BR and catch the last few Wonder Years' songs while waiting for Texas is the Reason. There's a bunch of instances like that and it's all pretty convenient. Related: Does anybody else use setlists to help plan things out? Seeing where certain songs land for "Weird Al" and Stiff Little Fingers has been super helpful in sorting out when to switch between those two stages.
It’s always packed. Past years a ton of people upgrade once they are at the fest. The upgrade both always has had people at it throughout the day.
I'm excited for the potential Fueled By Ramen bands crossover since they're all the same day. I'm manifesting William Beckett coming out for the Gym Class Heroes set to do 7 Weeks even though its unlikely
Life has been hitting me hard lately, and it's looking less and less likely I can pull off this year, which would be my first miss since I started going in 2012. Having a hard time coming to terms with that. Might be able to pull off just going Sunday but that's still pending.
It’s just single days and right now it’s at the north riverside Costco. I’d imagine the city locations will also carry it. I’ll have an answer sometime today.
I just looked at work and every Costco in Illinois carries the riot fest single days. Every location got about 200 tickets and from what I’m seeing on my end is that they’re moving. Some stores way more than others.
For sure. If any of them start getting low I’ll pop in with a warning but at this moment the only two stores moving a good amount are Lincoln park and Niles.
Last year I bought a 3 day ticket and ended up going for one day only because almost everything I wanted to see was either on Friday or in an aftershow.
