Probably early to mid next week. I’m also intrigued by the stage names/designations. They’re blurred out and it looks like the main stage has reverted back to Riot. The rest look like Roots, Rebel, Rise, and Radical to me… In that order. Are we going back to the traditional layout?!
Although the one I think looks like Rebel is where the NOFX stage was slotted last year. So could be the same format with the old names?
I can’t believe we are getting the schedule so early! And it seems like it may be before late shows? I like this new timing! Edit: Much better than last year where we didn’t even have the lineup yet!
I mean, last year... Radical and Rise were still there. So that could still be accurate. We might get Rebel back and it's just the NOFX stage re-named. And going back to Riot/Roots is easy enough, TBH. I know, right?!! I'm weirdly stressed about some of it this year... So not sure how I feel about having more time to get bummed out or what. Haha. My key hope: It's Alkaline Trio and "Weird Al" that overlap... And Blink plays unopposed.
Meh. Knocked Loose is just Slipknot without the fun/creative parts. Bring on Blink and let them slot "Josie" into the setlist because DHC is on the festival. I'm like 25% joking... But... Yeah, I'll take that over a Weird Al/Blink conflict easily.
Seems to be working for me. But I didn’t get notifications of new posts EDIT: Wait, I just got locked from it. Weird
I feel like the OG tour thread and a few thousand pages before it got locked. Feels weird that this current one has only existed for a little over a year and now is locked
The tour thread was an inside job. Mods knew of the rumored Turnstile tour announcing today and knew it would destroy the site
From the latest email: Nice of them to acknowledge it's coming "like really early." Haha. Based on this, I'm gonna go ahead and guess it'll drop on Monday to avoid the Tuesday tour/album announcement rush that tends to happen.
I still can’t believe we are getting the schedule before aftershows. Makes me wonder why the change from the norm.
it would be rad to get the schedule and the aftershow announcements at the same time (with on sale the following day or 2) so us freaks can really dig into it all.
I will say, I literally just finished making my mega playlist that I do every year (41 hours long, listened to literally every artist, did extensive research, minimum of 4 songs per band, etc.) and I usually listen to that all summer to get hyped and acquainted, but if I learn real early what bands I CAN'T see? That might be a bit of a bummer. But that's just a personal nitpick
Agreed! I've got my fingers crossed that there's a cool pre-show thing on Thursday like they've done a couple times. Silently hoping the Larry Arms have something up their sleeves for that... Honestly, I feel that. Hah. But I guess the other way of looking at it... You've got time to really focus on the shit you want to see and get amped about those artists.
similar-ish to the way i feel when the album plays get announced... like ok ill put this whole Trio album on my playlist...but what about these 20 other trio songs i love, do i put them on, hyping myself all summer on them only to know they most likely wont be played? haha
See that's where I got greedy and put MICF and 20 other bangers on cuz I gotta imagine they'll play a few? I have my own set of rules, doesn't need to make sense lol
I love the vast majority of So Long, Astoria as an album but... Looking at its 56-minute run time bums me out knowing that they'll have an hour long set and not get the opportunity to play anything else. Feeling pretty grateful they're doing a Boston date in October so I'll (hopefully) get to hear that new song plus a few others.
after spending time with 3 playlists made from each individual day, on random Friday is the glorious chaos i expect from riotfest saturday is a really good day at an rock festival with a punk slant sunday is a really good day at a punk festival with an emo slant
