only time ive seen JER perform at anything riot related was as part of the horn section for jeff rosenstock's Ska Dream after show.
I think JER played with Pet Symmetry during their set one year but I was properly toasted at that point and may be wrong
It's probably just selling well. I really don't think they have anything big enough left to announce that would warrant a price jump.
Interesting that the ADTR/YC tour is routed perfectly through Riot Fest with no Chicago date considering that YC was on that official playlist for a minute. Really curious if something just fell through last minute with negotiations or something like that.
Yeah I’m guessing something happened behind the scenes to where they had to drop off or something just didn’t work out. I wonder if ADTR were in talks to play too? Reminds me of the Tenacious D letdown of 2022 lol
I'm having a hard time seeing where they would have slotted both Yellowcard and A Day To Remember on this poster but... I could very easily see Yellowcard in that All Time Slow slot on Saturday. I always find it so interesting with stuff like that with who got super close to being booked but had to pull out and why, who took their place, etc. I remember the ad mat leaked the day before in like, 2014, and Good Charlotte was on it. Then they were gone the next day when the line-up dropped.
I also remember there being a version of the 2016 Denver poster that stated Devo was playing as part of a “final tour.” Also wonder what happened considering Devo is still touring and going strong lol
Yeah my conspiracy theory is they’re gonna get added for Saturday and that’s gonna be the justification for the price increase. Also lines up with the riot fest thing that said “over 90 bands” and the playlist that had Yellowcard on it
The price increase tends to happen whenever tickets are selling well. I don't know that they've ever jumped up with any sort of line-up addition... We're super close to 90 bands already and adding a couple local acts like they've been doing would readily push it over. I'm sticking with "it just didn't work out." EDIT: Also noting that, based on rumblings in the Tour Spec thread, that the Yellowcard tour was originally meant to be a headliner. So shifting to a support slot might have changed things as well.
Yeah I'm sure its just a case of things not working out, but damn would I LOVE if they ended up getting added.
Yeah it would’ve been cool for them to play at the start of the new album cycle since Riot is essentially was kickstarted then as a band again
Al Jourgensen confirmed Ministry will be embarking on their final tour next year and it will start “next September.” I wonder if Riot will try to get them one last time Ministry's Al Jourgensen announces the end of his iconic, industrial band. But first, one last album and tour
I’m surprised they weren’t booked this year, but I can definitely see them closing a smaller stage. Or playing early evening on one of the main stages, especially if NIN comes back.
Unrelated but I’ve been checking out Rico Nasty lately and I really like this song: Kinda get Bloc Party vibes from it
way late to the party and im sure im not breaking any new ground here, haha, but finally hitting up some album plays that i have not listened to before, and god damn, im now a fan of helmet, the effigies, and pegboy.
Meantime and Betty (in my opinion) are two of the greatest and most influential alt-metal albums of all time. There are so many bands of different metal subgenres that were influenced by that stuff. You can really tell
Pegboy is so fucking good. I saw them with the Offspring at My first Riot Fest in 2012 and I've been dying to see them ever since... I'm particularly stoked at the album play. They aren't doing an album play but I had a similar response when I checked out Zero Boys. Really hoping I can catch them.
Zero Boys are doing an album play! And I also saw Pegboy at my first Riot Fest (2009). They played before Screeching Weasel and Alkaline Trio.
